When swapping out the Note 7 with Verizon, do you pay taxes on the new device?

I would assume so. You should have taxes refunded from note 7 and pay taxes on new device.

Just called Verizon, got the LG V20 with $200 knocked off, no upgrade, free 2 day shipping, and they're going to refund taxes on the Note 7

Verizon did the same thing for me. I got $200 off my pixel xl with no contract and they refunded the 299 for my Note 7 on a two-year contract so I actually came out a hundred bucks to the good. They also refunded my case and screen protector for my note 7 as well with no recipet needed
