Dunno. I turn off the smart functions.

I don't have a specific model, but I can tell you from past research that Vizio is the best bang for your buck. I would recommend a roku/firestick or something because I'm not sold on the vizio smart tv components itself. I would also recommend a soundbar.

Costco sells 5 series not 4. 4 series are at Walmart.
Riiight..... I’ve purchased (2) 4 series TCL’s from Costco in the last year and my SIL just bought a 55” 4 series last week.
My porch TV is definitely a 4 series from Costco with the extra 3 year warranty
It probably depends on your location though. They sell both at my local Costco stores (in south LA- BR, Nola and Lafayette locations specifically) and are starting to stock the 6 series in other markets.

All I've ever seen is the 5 series.
If Costco starts selling the 6 series that would be huge with the # of bad panels out there. The return line would be a revolving door.

The 2019’s rolling out have new Quantum Dot panels

So I want is for Costco to sell me a 65" with local dimming for $500.

And I’ve also found that their website does not necessarily match up with what their sites actually stock.
For example my local Costco will have pallets and pallets of the 4 series TVs but they don’t show up on their website

Their closest would probably be a Vizio M series for $600
Unfortunately there are 2 versions of the M series this year (2019 models) and Costco’s is the much inferior version.
I know this because I just bought a 2018 model 65” M series (from Costco online) for the camp and looked into all of these options thoroughly.

Is there a particular reason you want a Smart TV? I don't know how long you plan to keep your TV, but I think the "smart" end of a smart TV would show its age long before the screen does. I'd get the best TV screen I could get in your budget range and then just spend $30-$40 extra on a Roku or Fire stick.
i dont know anything about Roku or Fire stick. I have Hulu and Netflix and Prime, and will only be watching that on the TV. I dont want to hook my laptop up to the TV.

Then why are you worried about a number pad not on the remote?
I would recommend getting a Roku or fire stick. Better interfaces than most smart TVs and usually just work better

Becasue i dont know shite about TVs. What does a Roku or fire stick do? Whats the difference between using a Roku and buying a Roku TV?
Posted on 8/30/19 at 11:20 pm to FightingTigers138
Roku is a streaming platform. You basically just download whatever apps you want to use (Netflix, Hulu, Prime, etc.) and access them thru the roku. Very easy to use. You can either buy the small roku box separately and plug it into the tv, or buy a tv that already has the roku platform built in the tv.

Building a Green Egg table this week. Shopping for outdoor Speakers and finishing up a Fountain. Patio will be ready for Texass game.

Costco would definitely be the best place to buy them. That issue was mostly with the 2018 models right?

just left costco. they definitely have a 55" Series 6 in stock now. its $479. not sure how much it costs at best buy or walmart. the other models are all still 5 series.
