I been thinking about ending my time with cable and just sticking to Hulu and Netflix, but as football season approaches I don't know how I am going to watch my games (both Auburn and LSU is what I care about)!! I do have an Apple TV and getting a Chromecast for my other TV.

Do you have any positives or negatives about the Chromecast?

Does anyone know how to watch football games online so I could stream it from my phone or laptop?

Should I just try and see for football season if I can have my cable service just for football season?

I was thinking about getting a Smart TV (wanted the internet base website), but I needed up talking myself out of that, unless someone can give me a good reason why. I just think after a few years it will be outdated for the processing speed and the software would outdated.

You should not buy a TV for its built in apps. Buy a chromecast, Roku box/stick, Amazon Fire TV box/stick, or Apple TV and plug it in. The user interface will be more stable and provide you with more options for apps and customization.

If you have an internet subscription, you will have limited access to WatchESPN. Generally anything not being broadcast on an ESPN channel will wind up on ESPN3. You can go the SlingTV route if you prefer to not pirate. $20/month gets you ESPN and ESPN2, and an extra $5 gets you SECN, ESPNU, and a bunch of other sports channels. SlingTV can be cancelled anytime without penalty. Only drawback is that you are limited to one stream at a time.

HD antennae works well in lots of areas. Free HD tv but its regular channels only. You'll get all the ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox games no problem.
