Using Mobile Hotspot with Fire Stick

Anyone have any experience doing this?
I live way out in the sticks. So far that I don't even have the option for a landline phone at my house. I've heard nightmare stories about Hughes Net, and I have Verizon's new unlimited data plan. No limit on mobile hotspot use, but they say it's lowered to 3G from LTE after 10GB. Obviously, I'll go over 10GB in a day with the Fire Stick tethered to it.
I just want to know if anyone else uses firestick this way, and their experiences. I expect some lag due to it being a phone hotspot rather than high speed internet, but if it's super shitty, I'm not going to bother with buying the stick.
Thanks

It's honestly terrible, man.

I don't know about Verizon, but recently my parents bought a mobile hotspot from AT&T to use their firestick while camping and they say it works perfectly. They have unlimited already so apparently it was just an extra $20/month to buy the stand alone hotspot w/ unlimited data.

We have a lake house very rural and we use an ATT hotspot out there as our sole internet and works well...haven't tried a fire stick though
