OLED Sony A80
or
LED UHD Sony X95J
Bright room only at times. Just trying to decide if for $200 the OLED is truly worthwhile considering possible brightness concerns.

Any reason in particular? Just prefer the OLED picture or think the glare issue is not really that big of a deal in a semi-bright room.

I think the brightness thing is overblown. Unless you have a window shining light right on the screen. Either way that setup sucks no matter what
So past that you get a much better picture quality, plus for me OLED instantaneous pixel response is superior in games.

OLED all the way. I have a 77” Sony A80J and the brightness issue is overdone. That sucker is much brighter than you’ll want. Movies and sports are terrific.
I still have Cox Cable but more often use an Apple 4K TV box and it rocks. Put the Apple box video setting on Dolby Vision and the Sony on Dolby Vision Bright and it’s a match made in video heaven.
The Cox picture is upscaled very well and often you can’t tell the difference between upscaled 1080p and 4K.
The X95J is the best LED out there. But not as good as OLED.
Both Sonys have the new cognitive processor which makes such a big difference between Sony and LG.

I have two Sony a80j in my house and it’s easily worth $200 upcharge over even a top of the line lcd tv.
Brightness is not an issue.
