I have Cox Cable service with a TiVo box. Recently, TiVo pissed me off enough to bail after using a TiVo for 10ish years. I have a Cox DVR on another TV in the house and it sucks. Is Contour a better device and comparable to TiVo?

Also, what are my alternatives if I punt Cox too? I know very little about Dish or Direct TV. Any advice is appreciated.

Thanks.

satellite picture quality and equipment is 10x better than cable POS

the newest Genie for DIRECTV or Hopper for DISH are light years ahead

i have no clue why people still have cable. if you have an option for fiber, Uverse has a good product too.

as far as DISH vs DIRECTV its splitting hairs. DIRECTV is my preference due to better HD and Sunday Ticket, but DISH is typically a few bucks cheaper. i like the interface better on the genie as well.

Agree about DirecTV being superior to cable. I have Tivo (don't have cable), but it is so far above any cable or satellite interface that I have ever used.

Contour is awesome. Does the same thing as the hopper and doesn't go out during rain. Not sure why all the Cox hate, but it works great and Internet speeds are superior to any competitor. Also, uverse blows.
