Tablet recommendation? (edit: Thread closed; winner: 7th gen iPad $279)

Been out of the tablet world since probably 2nd generation of iPads. Wife is asking for one for casual use around the house, as well as for something to look at on the treadmill instead of the wall.
So most likely casual web browsing + streaming apps. Should I go with a previous generation iPad or an android tablet? Really don’t wanna spend “brand new iPad” bucks on something that’s likely just gonna stay on the treadmill. Which is funny, because I just wanted to buy a small cheap TV and mount it on the wall, but then she said she’d prefer a tablet.

Walmart has been randomly marking down the 10.2 inch iPads to $280 recently. Right now it shows the black one and gold one at that price. Silver is still $345. We just bought a black one for our kids to use for virtual learning at that price.

Well worth it if it gets your wife on the treadmill.

If you're interested in buying used, check out Swappa. I've sold several items through there and it's my go-to for phones. I have not experienced any issues, although it has been taken over by dealers/resellers for some products.

iPad is still king of the tablet world, but Samsung is doing well also. Their budget line is great for light use around the house. The current budget model is the Tab S6 Lite, but the S7 just came out so I assume they will release an s7 lite at some point.
