Suggestions for Bluetooth device to play spotify

Maybe an odd question, but looking for an inexpensive bluetooth device to connect to my receiver to stream Spotify through the house.
The receiver I have doesnt have WiFi, so my thinking is if I have a cheap device (old ipod would be perfect but cant find them anywhere) I could leave it in the closet with the receiver to stream music over bluetooth, and I could still control the playlist, songs, etc from my phone from virtually anywhere through the spotify app.
Don't have an old iphone laying around or I would use that...
Any suggesions or has anyone tried something like this?

There's a million of them on Amazon. Just search Bluetooth receiver. I think my old work used one called mii and it was solid.

Sorry, guess my post was a little unclear. My receiver has Bluetooth but the range is crap… when we have people over I have to leave my phone within 15-20’ of the receiver or it loses connection and the music stops.
I’m looking for a small and/or cheap streaming device to leave in the AV closet connected by Bluetooth to the receiver, which through the Spotify app on my phone I can still change playlists, skip songs, etc, without having to be close to the AV closet.
Haven’t used eBay in years but guessing an iPod touch with Bluetooth would be ideal, unless there is something similar for $50 or so.

I used to bluetooth my phone to my stereo and then control the Playlist on my phone via my smartwatch

The iPod idea would work. I use an old phone as my playlist hub.

If your house has wifi, you will enjoy a chromecast audio way more than a bluetooth device. Find on eBay.
