Only have one Directv box at our camp and we don’t want to have to get another one for the outdoor tv. Bought a Warrky HDMI splitter and a long HDMI cord to where we could run two tv’s at the same time that both show the same thing.

Hooked up and both pictures work, but the sound does not. If we just run one tv (through the splitter) the sound works, but when we plug up the second cord it cuts the sound off from both tvs. I have this same setup at my house except for I have my box split 3 ways and everything works perfectly.

Is this something with the Directv box? Maybe a bad splitter even though it works with one cord? Have tried different HDMI cords as well and none have worked when split two ways, but work with just the one tv.

Any help would be appreciated.

How old is that box? We were with Directv for almost 18 years and older equipment can definitely cause problems. We learned that DirecTV isn’t handing out the newest equipment just because, but if you pay for the insurance and upgrades call them up.

Try a new splitter box.

Also, do you have wifi at your camp? If you do, get a firestick and download the direcTV app. It will allow you to stream the DTV feed on the 2nd TV.

Yeah, you don't want to use that as a solution then. Good luck getting it sorted.
