Does anyone have Spectrum mobile? Thinking of giving it a shot. Currently have Verizon unlimited plan for $80 a month and Spectrum would be $45.

They apparently use Verizon’s network? I don’t understand how or why this works.

I’m in dallas, if that matters.

I know people who have switched to Spectrum Mobile in Dallas and everyone of them said they were happy they did.

Spectrum buys extremely large chunks of access to the Verizon network at wholesale prices and then resells the service for less than you can get it from Verizon. Spectrum is a "third party" resller and is trying to establish a foothold in the mobile marketplace.

These types of agreements have been in place in telecom since the 1996 Telecommunications Act was signed by Bill Clinton.

I'm currently with Verizon but also thinking of switching to Spectrum.

I've had Spectrum Mobile for the last year and a half. Been very happy with the coverage and service. Only downside is less retail locations compared to bigger providers, and at least for iphone they only stock the ones with the least amount of memory. Shipping is was 2 business days, so not a huge deal, but just an FYI.

Can I ask what your actual bill price is monthly? and how many lines you have?

I have Spectrum cable and internet. I was drawn in by the "$45 per month" prices and my actual bill for cable and internet is $140 per month.

Their $45 is actually $45, but my bill is $101.73 for 2 lines due to buying phones. Had I bought them outright or been able to move them to Spectrum, my bill would be $90.
I had iPhone6 and the lowest one they would activate is 6s, so I had to get new phones.

$90 for 2 lines
$20.43 for the phones (24 months 0% interest)
-$8.70 credit for old phone buyback (for 24 months)
= $101.73

Switched to Spectrum Mobile about 4 months ago. Very pleased. Have not noticed any difference in mobile speeds or coverage but significantly cheaper than my old Verizon bill...

Visible is Verizon's prepaid version. $40 per month unlimited. I think as long as you're not streaming HD Netflix on 4g you should be good. I'm saving a ton.

I've been on visible for two months now and love it. Came from project fi and the service is noticeably improved.

Thanks for the reply. That is cheaper than what I'm paying now. Do you have unlimited everything for that price?

Yes. Unlimited talk, text and data. They claim to slow down data after 20gb/mo but I have yet to reach 5gb so I can't confirm how much slower it gets at that point.
