Sonos - Connect with Playbar?

Ever used a playbar with an outside TV?
I have four outdoor speakers connected to another amp inside. I want to put a tv in a completely different part of the yard and convert my system into sonos.
Can I use connect for the existing outdoor speakers and then connect it with a playbar with the TV? Any flaws in this plan?

I'm assuming you want the sound coming out of all of the speakers to be what the tv is playing?
If so where is the cable box?

Using the TV almost exclusively for football games, so probably stream from a Fire Stick. May also look into the DirecTV genie mini that I've been hearing so much about.

All you need is one of the sonos boxs/playber to get the TV sound then you can group the other boxes with it. So yes you can use the connect for the 4 speakers and the playbar for the TV. Know this with the DRTV minis there is a sound delay vs a regular DRTV box and other mini clients. It would be fine if you hook the client to the outside TV/playbar and group with the connect hooked to the other 4 speakers. If you have a DRTV box hooked to your inside receiver where the connect will be it will have a sound sync issue with the picture on the outside TV/playbar. As long as you get the TV sound to the playbar from that TV/mini/firestick you should be golden.

Can't I do something similar where I take a Play 5 (much cheaper than Playbar) and then take an RCA cable to 3.5mm jack and directly run that from TV to Play:5?
Won't that do something similar as the playbar which would then allow me to play my TV sound to the Play:5 and then also group other Sonos play:1's or play:3's to that play 5 and get tv sound outdoors?

We had Direct tv out here today. We wanted the genie and the wireless one so we could install a tv outside. The installers said we had to get a newer dish, but they couldn't install a new one because they might damage the gutters and some other new government regulation bs. We said forget it.
We would love to watch football games outside in our outdoor kitchen/pool area. We have sonos and direct tv.
Any ideas?

I think DTV is full of crap or you had some lazy tech. Call and threaten to cancel because they couldnt help you out, and I bet you will have someone out there to install a new dish in no time.

Yes...all you need is one sonos device hooked to the TV and then group the rest. ONly possible issue would be the sync issue if your looking at multiple TVs

I have done this. You'll need the Sonos Amp I believe.
