Not sure to put this on Tech or O/T board, but I suspect I’ll get more help here.

I have a Seiko solar-powered watch that’s been put up for probably 5 years. I have put the watch in direct sunlight for several (4?) days and under a lamp at night. In direct sunlight it will almost keep up, lagging a bit behind by day’s end. Under the lamp’s light it will lag a few hours behind by morning.

How long can I expect it to take to get it back running, or is a service needed? Isn’t there some sort of “battery” that does need to be changed every 10 years or so?

Thanks in advance for any help.

How old is it? You said it had been put up for 5 years. I think battery life with normal use is about 7-10 years max. Probably needs a new battery installed. Not knowing how they transfer solar power to the battery or how it is configured, it is probably time to replace whatever battery is in there.

I’ve had it maybe 10 years, so a new battery is in order. Thanks for the feedback, I suspected a few more days in the sun wasn’t gonna do the trick.
