I want a smart vacuum. It will really just be for hard floors (tile and wood). I'd like it to be affordable but good at working 1-2 times a weak just to control pet hair/dander.

I've got a "dumb" Roomba 655, but you can manually set a schedule on it. We have it run every morning and the only thing you really have to do is empty it a few times a week and occasionally rescue it from things it gets stuck under. Since you're looking for affordable you may not need "connect to my wifi and control with an app" smart if it has a schedule feature.

My wife is smart enough to vacuum everyday. Looks great.

Roborock

End thread. Unbeatable for the price. Period.

I'd throw my Eufy robovac in the conversation. About $180, but comes with a remote (so you can drive it under furniture) and has some great features like edge mode, targeted cleaning mode (for a particular area or spill), two brushes on the front, battery lasts a long time. The only drawback is that it doesn't have the things where you can send a signal to stay away from certain areas.

Have a Shark one. It picks up dust and dog hair like a champ but I'm not convinced the thing doesn't just move around randomly.

Most of them just move around randomly, unless you do a particular setting like edge mode, or the grid mode or whatever. Or unless you spend a buttload of money for one that is targeted and finds dirt.

Here to +1 the i7+.

Bought it slightly used on eBay. We love that it has the auto-empty feature so we can go away for a few days and it can keep up with the pet hair (two dogs) and not have to worry about it getting full. Smart maps work great. Expensive but worth it IMO.
