I have zero athletic ability. Which means my fat arse has to diet. Hopefully some people here know what I'm talking about because honestly the health/fitness board is more fitness than loss.

I purchased a smart scale the Arboleaf from Amazon.

It's great for tracking but the app/software only communicates with google fit and fitbit. So it's very limited.

I started walking and wanted to track that so I got a cheap step counter the Yamay smart watch.

Now to the problem. Google fit dumbly sync's the weight I entered from my smart watch instead of making the smart scale my preferred weight. It seems like a small thing but I wanted more of a central area to track everything. Is there a better way of doing this? I also use the google fit to sync my calorie loss with myfitnesspal. But it's not 100% right because I don't have the watch sync'd anymore due to it overriding my weight.

Anyone else have this solved? I really just wish you could choose which smart appliance sync'd which data.

I have a FitBit scale, a Garmin watch and sync weight to Garmin Connect via myfitnesspal. Fitbit and MFP sync, MFP and Garmin sync, so the data makes it over. It stinks they are all not compatible, but they are workable in my situation. I've had to remove access to apps from each other from time to time to get data flowing again, it's only a minor inconvenience and solved the problem. I really like having all of my data in Garmin's app for ease of viewing.

You don't need "athletic ability" to use an elliptical machine, stationary cycle or treadmill 4 or 5 times a week for 2 to 3 1/2 hours total time, and a general strengthening program of about 90 minutes in 3 sessions over a week.

Hell, that's how you develop a "modest" level of fitness from nothing.

What I was trying to say is that I'm not one who enjoys physical activity or working out or things like that. It's a means to an end and to me that end is just to lose weight. I walk 2miles/day right now but loathe every second of it.

Then just diet.

If you eat clean, modest calories and drink about a gallon a water a day, you’ll lose weight without any physical activity. No sugar or soft drinks. Just don’t starve yourself and make sure and have a cheat day or cheat meal so you can sustain it.

Once you stop losing weight and if you’re not at your goal, you’ll need exercise to take you the rest of the way.

We're off the OP topic here but..

Nah I would still recommend he at least goes for walks or gets some moderate aerobic exercise like that. There are far too many benefits to exercise aside from just weight loss.

OP,

Unfortunately the "smart" devices for fitness are all scattered technologies and unless you buy all into one particular brand's ecosystem, you really won't get an easy smart solution. The best you can usually do is use MyFitnessPal and have it sync to all of your stuff and use MFP as your central hub.

I STRONGLY recommend that you do not eat back exercise calories, in fact don't even look at exercise calories as anything remotely accurate. Just exercise because of the benefits to your physical and mental health, not specifically to lose weight.

Oh I'm doing great on my diet and have incorporated walking everyday to get me off my stalls.

My agitation was with the technology wanting something that kind of incorporated everything in one spot. But it seems like there hasn't been something like this made yet.

I guess fitbit has a scale and of course watches. Not sure if they have a food/macro tracker. It all helps when you can actually see your progress.

This topic makes me instantly think of a fat woman wearing a fitbit.

I’ve lost 25lbs in about 6 weeks by doing Keto along with 16/8 intermittent fasting. I walk about 4-5 miles everyday.

Easiest thing I’ve ever done. Keto is just very low carbs, Intermittent fasting is easy, it’s just not eating between 8pm and noon the next day.

No one really enjoys the process of getting into shape. Building up sweat equity is tough man. Once you're in shape however, it's pretty easy to maintain and fun to workout.

You just sound like you're unable to push yourself.
