Smart lights used in regular ceiling fans

Super easy. We've done this in our house. Literally just install (screw in) the bulbs and follow the manufacturer's instructions on the box. Do you know what type of bulbs you have in your fans currently? If you have money, go with Philips Hue Whites or Hue colors, but you need a bridge hooked into you router which is also very easy to install. Less than five mins.

I have a echo plus, is that the same as the bridge? I had an echo dot for a while, but got a plus when I decided I wanted to do the LED strip. I need the small candelabra type bulbs for the fan in the theater room. As long as Philips Hue makes them, that’s the route I will be going. The wiring in our house is horrible and we just got engaged and are starting to look for a new house, so i was hoping this is just as simple as putting in the new bulbs and connecting them to Alexa so i can move them into the new house.

Yes, it's possible. My girlfriend has some in her ceiling fan. They're just the regular standalone smart bulbs, no hub or anything. They work great.

the only thing i have to add here is to NOT buy the shitty $6 SMART candelebra style IKEA bulbs. i put them into all my ceiling fans that had this style bulb and they worked for about 3 days and then starting flickering...going dim..then BRIGHT..then dim. this was across multiple ceiling fans in different rooms. took them out & put regular led candelebra style bulbs in and the issue stopped immediately.

No, the bridge is a proprietary device for Phlips Hue bulbs only that controls all of the bulbs so they don’t bog down your wifi. It can be controlled by Alexa though.

I put a smart light-switch in our bedroom, and it’s pretty awesome. Tell Alexa to turn on light and fan.
