Apple is expected to get rid of the audio jack in its new iPhone, which has caused a certain amount of uproar among loyal iPhone users.
So Samsung, which has a history of publicly attacking Apple, didn't waste much time in lobbing a dig at the iPhone maker during its Galaxy Note 7 unveiling event on Tuesday. "Do you know what else it comes with? An audio jack, just saying," Justin Denison, Samsung's SVP of product strategy, said on stage.

Surprise surprise, Samsung is living off the iPhone for press.

How much do you wanna bet every Samsung phone within 3 years will not include an audio jack anymore?

How are you supposed to use headphones?

Instead of having a separate audio socket, Apple plans to use its Lightning cable port to connect headphones to the iPhone.

Another modification so they can charge people $30+ for the right accessory they'll need to use the device.
They are brilliant marketers.

Wtf? So you would need an adapter to connect headphones. frick that noise.

We are more than likely only a year or two away from wireless headphones becoming standard anyway.

ETA: What's the reasoning behind it? Sturdier connection? More space for battery? Better audio quality?

Uh, bluetooth headphones cost around $10-$20 for a decent pair and as low as $5 for a cheap pair.
Not really that difficult

Uh, I prefer earbuds when I workout and I like having the mic and audio control at my fingertips.
Uh, is that reasonable?
ETA: Oh, and uh, I hate having to charge shite like headphones.
ETA2: Oh, and uh, all of my good headphones are wired.

2 edits? I feel so special!
Sure, it's reasonable. But, that wasn't the content of your question.
Here, let's have a little reading comprehension lesson:
You stated:
Had you asked "How are you supposed to use wired headphones?", the answer would have been a little different; likely referencing that there will be an adapter to purchase. Unfortunately, that's not what you asked.
Either way, glad to see that you're living up to your username though. Nothing like a bit of honesty in today's world.

Good God. Is this your normal persona?
It was an honest question and you responded like a douche.
ETA: And anyone with a modicum of sense would have inferred that I was referring to wired headphones. Have a good day.

Not liking this change. I'd like to know the reasoning behind it but I'm too lazy to look it up. Hopefully someone here knows off the top of their head.

1. so noise-cancelling headphones can draw power from the iPhone
2. virtual reality
3. fitbit-type information (heart rate, temp, perspiration)

Guy, I posted a simple (albeit brash) response to your question. You're the one who flipped out with the repetitive "um" and multiple edits. If you can't deal with very simple and slight sarcasm along with a legitimate response without being overtly offended, you're going to have a tough time in this world.
Anyone with a "modicum of sense" can infer why Apple is removing the headphone jack. $$$, plain and simple. But, there will always be workarounds. Don't like it? Android has no problem scooping up those sales.
Edit of my own: It's too hot to be pissy about electronics. We all need to go out and get a snowball or some damn ice cream and chill.
