Setting up new home entertainment system

I'm going to wave a magic wand and say what I'm looking for and you guys are going to direct me... cool?
I need a good, not GREAT TV... around 70-75" and it has to have 3+ HDMI ports, 2+ USB ports, and possibly an optical audio(?) (we'll get to that in a second)
I also need a sound bar/system that would be compatible across the TV, regardless of what source it's operating (I use standard satellite cable, Roku, XBOX One, and Switch)
Going back to the optical audio... is it a necessity? I had one on my Polk soundbar and couldn't really hear a difference... and the TV is being mounted on the wall above a fireplace and there's tubing running behind the wall about 10-15' down and to the side... so I'll need long HDMI, power, and possibly optical cables.
Lastly, just ONE frickING REMOTE that will control the sound on the sound system/bar, again, regardless of whether it's on Satellite TV or Roku or one of the consoles.
The remote has to be able to switch sources, control the cable, control the Roku, and the sound... I've been looking all over and can't seem to find one that can do frick all...
Please Tech Board, help

Don't see why you would need an optical cable these days. TV and soundbar should connect via HDMI.
Finding a remote should be easy as well

This won't be nearly as hard as you think it will. Especially if you match brands with the TV and sound bar. The ARC or eARC HDMI ports allows audio out and control of the audio system.
I recently picked up a 75" Sony X950H TV and can't say enough good things about it. Paired it with a Denon AVR-960 receiver through the eARC port with a single HDMI cable to run 5.1 in my living room, plus 2 more speakers on my patio. The receiver turns on and off with the TV and can control the volume with the TV remote. Very simply and you could do something similar with a sound bar.

Also agree with Sony and hdmi Arc. Reddit has a list of the best buys for TVs at certain price points. Sony I think is usually near the top if it's within your budget. Alot of people will poopoo on soundbars while you're searching up theater. They kind of are what they are.

Because they suck compared to an actual home theater

A lot of people will also poopoo the Geo Metro on performance car discussions, too.

I use Shield TV Pro. With the remote I control the amplifier, the TV and the Shield. Simple.

Get you a good TV (what ever tickles your pickle budget wise)
As for soundbar toss that in the garbage, you want at minimum a 5.1 system
Get you a receiver that can atleast push Dolby DTS that has HDMI inputs built into it, hook your HDMI cable to ARC on your TV and ARC on your receivr, then hook everything to the receiver (cable, blu ray etc)
Get you 2 tower speakers, center channel speaker and 2 rear surround sound speakers, and a subwoofer… or go Dolby atmos and use a 7.2 setup

Hey I have a denon 960 also, question for you… I had a Onkyo sr373 before… and after setting my denon up it seems like I’m having to push the volume higher than I did with the Onkyo… normal range for a movie or something was around 50… my denon I’m pushing it to 70 to get it loud…
Are you having this same issue?

I'm only having to go to 40, sometimes 50, for movies. Don't think I've ever cranked my system up to 70. I have noticed it is a very gradual increase in volume compared to my old JVC unit but also assuming it is very linear which would be a good thing IMHO.
There are so many variables from speaker efficiency, ohms, wire, TV/receiver settings, etc. I've done quite a bit of tuning and still do depending on the situation. Have you messed with channel level adjustments? For a general movie, my center channel is a Klipsch RP-500 and can kind of overwhelm the rest of the system so it is turned down 5dB while my in-ceilings are up 7.5dB because I like to hear the surround.

Well I have 2 Klipsch tower speakers Dolby atmos R-26FA and Klipsch R-25c center channel plus my 2 surround sound speakers and 2 subs… it sounds great all running 8ohms using 12gauge speaker wire
No I haven’t messed with channel level adjustment only thing I did was change under inputs the source level to +10 DB which will allow the system to be turned up to 45 and it is loud… but if I’m watching Netflix or something on my appleTV 4K I haven’t adjusted the input source level, and I have to turn it up to 70ish just to get the sound pushing out loud enough
Like right now I just turned the source level back down to 0db (factory place) and watching a movie on cable I have it turned up to 63

Should have enough power to run those just fine. Might be time to contact Denon. Please report back with what they suggest.
