Have you setup your Windows Media Center computer w/ a decoder card?
Nope

Does PVRWMC use DLNA?
Yes. I should add I have an HDHomerun Tuner that is DLNA compliant that feeds my WMC Server.

Are you able to play from any DLNA server in your household?
I haven't tried to watch or setup from anything but my WMC Server.

My issue with FireTV is no optical out. I have incredible sound (albeit 5.1) from my Sony STR-DA777ES receiver. It was a flagship product when it came out, costing about $2k. It weighs almost 60 pounds. It does not have HDMI, but does have PCM and optical inputs. I use this in my media room with a projector. I can't use a FireTV here without the digital audio out.
I love the incredible sound on this sound system (Klipsch speakers). Hoping Amazon puts it back in.

Can't you just plug the fire tv into your tv via hdmi and run the optical out from the TV to the AVR? I'm doing that but just to a soundbar.
In other words don't hook the fire tv up to the AVR, hook it up to the TV.

You sound like a woman, and i say that b/c i'm pretty sure everyone's wife said the same thing to them, then after a few weeks of letting the bitching die down and showing her how easy this is, she's on board.

you may want to invest in something like this that you can use on the TVs that lack optical if you have this problem in multiple places

I picked up a newer android Kodi box the other day with the minimum wireless keyboard for $73 delivered for both. LINK I'll post a review once it comes in, but the specs on it are nice, and it handles 5G wifi which was the biggest plus since I get a lot faster speeds on my 5G wifi in my media room.

You mean an android tv box that you installed Kodi on?

Just read this thread because I'm ordering on of these just to get NFL RedZone via PlayStation VUE.
CAD is there C4 integration for this device ?
You should have all the components powered down when you are plugging in HDMIs.

So the cool thing is the fire tv renamed the HDMI port I plugged it into automatically. The weird thing is I was still reconnecting cables and putting everything back and my phone starts going of saying my fire tv has been registered and updated

Nope, comes with kodi and all the add-ons already installed, you just plug it in and it's ready to go.

you can. everything you want to know is either written in this thread or linked in it.

find the plug-in called "easy advanced settings". do you know how to install and uninstall plug-ins on kodi? you might have to search the "video" and the "program" plug-ins...i don't remember where it was. when you get it, open it and go to: Edit settings Network Network again here you'll be able to edit values for buffermode, cachemembuffersize, and readbufferfactor. read the descriptions of each one of those on that wiki page above. set buffermode to 1 and readbufferfactor to 4 or 5...maybe 10, i dunno...it doesn't really matter. cachemembuffersize is the big one. most of the discussions that i linked talked about how the cachemembuffersize number maxes out at your total RAM divided by 3, and that the firestick has half the RAM of the firetv box. so your stick has 1GB of RAM, which is 1,000,000,000 bytes. Divived by 3 = 333,333,333 bytes maximum. that's the largest number you would want to put for "cachemembuffersize". maybe back off of that a little and do 250,000,000 or something...i really don't know.
This is the only thing that I found in your post, and it most says that you don't know what to set anything to. Have you been able to figure out the best settings?

These came in on Saturday and I hooked them up tonight. I have to say that I am really impressed, the packaging was nice, the box itself is built well and doesn't feel cheap, it hooked up easily and immediately worked, and includes a HDMI cable and nice remote.
The interface is a huge improvement over the MQX box that I have, much easier to navigate, and the included remote is much better than fire TV or MQX box remotes and even has a button to launch Kodi. It comes with all the add-ons pre-installed and with the 16.1 build of Kodi. The mini-keyboard I ordered is also a newer version and appears to be better built (micr-USB charging port) than the old mini-keyboard I have that has a mini-USB charging port.
It comes with a bandwidth speed test program installed, so I was able to try out both of the 2.4 Ghz channels and both of the 5Ghz channels I have running wifi in the house to see which gave me the best speeds in my media room. I can't believe how much smoother and faster this box is running Kodi than my Fire TV and my MQX boxes. Normally I would wait for a minute for the streams to load on the other two boxes, the Q box loaded the list of streams within a few seconds, and a 1080P stream almost immediately.
If you are looking for a Kodi box, I would recommend this one over anything else in the $100 or less price range, but spend the extra $10 and get the mini-keyboard as well.
Picture of home screen, very clean and simple.
