I see some Roku TVs (TCL, Hisense, Insignia) that look like good deals, but i dont know if im overpaying for the tv considering i could just buy a roku stick for $35 and get the same thing.
Anyone have any experience with these Roku TVs?
Is there anything inherently better/useful about having Roku built into a tv?
For reference here is 55" 4k TCL Roku tv for $467 (after 15% off at checkout and plus tax): LINK
And here is a 55" 4k haier no roku for $299: LINK

I have a Sharp Roku TV and it works great. I also have the Roku stick on another TV but I much prefer having it built in.

There will likely be some point in the future when you'll want to upgrade the Roku, but you won't be ready to upgrade the TV yet. So keep them separate.

In fact, get a Fire TV instead. It's better.

Price being equal, it is better to buy a separate box than a built in Roku TV
Built in is a little slower and not as high quality

I have the roku built in tv. It's fine and i enjoy not having a box on my mantle. But if i had it all to do over again i'd probably keep them separate.

I have the 55" TCL TV with built in Roku.
Paid $389 after $50 instant rebate at Costco.
Works great. We use it in our bedroom. I would buy again.
