Any recommendations for a wireless router that can deliver 1GB speeds? Looking at increasing our internet service with Eatel, dropping TV, and using PSVue.

You're going to be very lucky to actually get 1GB at any wireless receiver. The signal is only that good right out of the router.

That said, even 50mbps is plenty for psvue streaming. I'd recommend one of the newer mesh network systems (have Google WiFi myself) as they give you a more consistent experience across the house.

If you really need 1GB, it's tough to beat Ethernet cable.

Google Wifi is amazing, but so are a lot of the mesh systems. Definitely recommend if streaming in a medium to large sized house.

Honestly, our router is positioned in the most central part of the house. The mesh system isn't all that necessary, unless the price point isn't much difference. I realize that 1gb isn't likely wireless, but is there a router that you recommend that will maximize the potential?

Got to find a router with the highest WAN to LAN throughput -- which is the amount of bandwidth the router can handle from the modem. Pretty much every commercial router has WAN to LAN throughput under 1Gb, but some of the better ones will do 900Mbps or so, and even some random "budget" routers will do the same (but the wireless throughput won't be so great).

This list seems out of date, but maybe a good starting point: LINK

The list can be a little misleading though. I have the R7000 and it has a lot of trouble actually achieving 1Gbps WAN-LAN. I can only get it to do it if I turn off a ton of the settings. I recently stumbled across an article that said you can get it to work if you turn off DHCP, let your router/modem hand out DHCP, and use a LAN port instead of the WAN on the R7000. Haven't bothered to test it yet though.

I doubt any of your devices have a 1GB Wifi NIC

I have two GB routers but a majority of my house is hardlined with CAT6.
