Got an email last night for a free 30 days including HBO and Cinemax.
Not sure if the link is tied to a code but here it is:

I got that too. I'm guessing since I prepaid for 3 months I can't get that anyway.
Some sort of thank you for me paying to be a beta tester would be nice.
It's just now starting to be somewhat stable. And it looks like they started dynamically changing the bitrate as capacity allows.

Is that possibly why ESPN looked like shite last night?

That's maybe assumption. But it didn't go out.
It would snap from somewhere below 720 to crisp HD
And it's not bandwidth on my side. I have a solid 1Gb fiber connection

Are you using AC for wifi? Every time I fire up the apple TV and stream it's flawless. I need to try to test with something that is being heavily watched.

Directly hard wired in on the Apple TV as well as a Fire TV in the living room. Hard wired (with a 1Gbps switch in between) to a desktop in my office, and AC wireless to a fire TV in my living room with fantastic signal. Happens on all of them intermittently. VoD is particularly atrocious.
Since I'm on AT&T fiber, there should be no interconnection issues between ISPs. And I know the bandwidth is there because I am constantly copying VHDs and ISOs to and from different data centers, and I'm the only person on my "node" on fiber (it's new).

For me, not having local channels on Now was a deal breaker since can't pick up via antenna. Sticking with Vue and have been pleased

Canceled my Uverse subscription 3 days ago, signed up for the $35 promo, prepaid the 3 months and got the apple TV. Also got ATT to bump my internet speed to their highest speed with no increase in fees ($50 per month).
So far I'm happy with DTV Now. Does anyone know what sort of upgrades/changes are planning on being made? I assume there will be some to come seeing as it's a brand new service.
Only thing I don't like is lack of local channels. Thinking of buying this antenna on Amazon. Thoughts? Mohu Leaf.
Also happy with the Apple TV, never have had/used one before. What are some must have apps?

Is the $5 hbo the normal price or is it a promo? I got Dtv now at launch but didn't get hbo and thinking about getting it. Need to see if I should pull the trigger now

Depends on where you are located. I am in the Mandeville Covington area and struggle to pull in stations with an attic antenna. If you are in a bigger city or close to it, it should work just fine.

I have the Amazon Basics leaf-style antenna (35 mile range) and catch all of the local New Orleans stations without a problem. I'm about 25 miles outside of New Orleans in St. Charles Parish. The antenna is Velcroed behind my TV on a perimeter wall....maybe 4 ft off the ground. ABC, CBS, NBC, Fox and PBS are all crystal clear.

Seems like the streaming quality has improved on DirectNow over the past week. I jumped on the free appletv deal. I was looking to actually buy a new one anyway so it came at a perfect time.
I'm watching the sugar bowl now in crystal clear hd. On a firestick at that

I can't see how someone would use much more than what i'm using and I havent' reached my cap
very easy
heavy gaming, streaming, downloading and maybe running a server could all do that.

The stability and quality was greatly improved yesterday for the bowl games. I only had a couple of pauses throughout the whole day, on both an ATV and AFTV.
Normally I lose the ability to watch during high demand or prime time. The Rose and Sugar were crystal clear.

I actually buffered for the first time this weekend. Like 3 times in the same day. However, the service still kicks arse in my opinion. I've been very pleased especially for the price. When they add locals, will those of us who bought in at the introductory rate get them with no additional charge?
Edit: I'm talking DTV Now

With AT&T, who knows.
I fully expect DVR to be an add-on feature that costs extra. But maybe all the current and upcoming competition will keep them honest.
