I appreciate that. Even if it works that doesn't mean you get the Pelicans games. Pelicans games never show up for me on FoxSportsGo with my current cable provider, but they've always lagged behind when it comes to streaming deals. And maybe I just missed it in this 10 page thread, but is there any talk of Vue coming to Roku eventually?

No, nothing on the ROKU Yet.

GREAT news, however. Just signed into Fox Sports Go with my Vue credentials and I get:

Fox Sports Southwest. Tonights content includes:

Pelicans Pre Game
Pelicans vs Pacers
Pelicans Post game

I'm in the Lafayette area, so it's not 100% you'll get it..but it's definitely worth your time to do the 7 day free trial and to test it out.

Good luck

Alright everyone, here's my review of how the PS4 Universal TV Remote works with Vue.

First off, the thing is big. It's not heavy, however. Requires 2 AAA batteries that were not included.

Setting it up was not a problem. Merely pointing your Universal Remote at the Playstation and holding a few buttons to identify it with the PS4.

After paring it with your PS4, you need to teach your universal remote the commands that your normal HDTV remote has. If your TV is a smart TV, you can teach the PS4 Remote how to one click Netflix, how to 1 click the main menu button, and the input button. Those are the 3 I did, for example.

Now on to Vue. It works great with it..it's native to the app 100%. Unfortunately, there are no L1, L2, R1, R2 buttons on the remote. I haven't quite figured out what buttons on the remote replace those, but I'll find it out soon.

The record on the remote works. There's even a guide button for you people that like it simple, and even a larger "Options" button that goes straight to the guide.

They have the traditional X, Box, Triangle and Circle buttons too that work the same as a regular PS4 controller

Awesome, thanks Now I just have to explain to my wife why we'd be going back to the PS3 instead of continuing to use the Roku she bought me for Christmas

If you want some advice..and if she's 100% up for it..get a Fire TV ($100).

The PS3 is garbage with Vue. All accounts have said that the Fire TV is very similar to the PS4 in regards to quality and functionality but the PS3 is laggy and glitchy in the guide and main menu sections. The streaming is on par with the PS4, it's just getting there.

You can't do something like this half arse, IMO. If you do it half arse, you're not going to like it.

Thanks for the PS3 info.

Can I record/DVR live TV programs?

Yes! By adding your favorite shows to “My Shows”, you will automatically save them for up to 28 days after they air. On Demand content added to “My Shows” will be saved for varying amounts of time.

This can't be true. If your "DVR" only goes 28 days back, that's kind of a deal breaker. Are there any work arounds to save these locally?

Your wife is going to hate it on PS3. She'll make you go back to cable or Sling.

Vermilion, this has prob been discussed so forgive me if it has, but whats the risk of jumping in here with Apple releasing something this year? I have an appletv that I won't be able to use with vue so I'll invest in a Fire TV if I decide to commit. Have there been any rumors about Apple's product that may be better/worse?

Sony does have a bit of an In in the content market with its movie and music branches, but I'd be shocked if Apple/Amazon/Google don't all end up with similar content deals that Sony has been able to get. How soon they all catch up to Sony is unknown, but I'd be shocked if at least 2 of them weren't up and running with a similar service in the next year.

If it's a money thing, just look at how much you'd save vs. your cable bill. I could pay for a new Fire TV after 1.5 months of Vue vs. my current cable bill and from what I've seen there's no contract, so you can get it now and ditch it later in the year if Apple comes out with something you want to pay more for.

Yea the only real investment is the equipment (Fire TV). Simply because they won't play nicely with each other. Surely apple will only allow appletv just as Vue is not available on appletv. So you end up with 2 $100+ devices that only work with one service or the other.

Also, I've got two chromecasts that are basically going to be useless to me at this point

Ps4. Holy shite it is awesome.

My biggest thing holding me back on cutting my cable was soccer. But you get fox sports for champions league and nbcsports. And my vue credentials get me in NBC live extra so I can still watch every premier league game.

I'm sold, I'm paying uverse $147 a month for just cable that I barely watch.

Plus my gf can still watch her housewives and vanderpump rules when she comes over.

I think the DVR cloud is genius as well. If I go 28 days with out watching something, I'm prob never going to watch it anyway and would have been erased from my DVR.

Also i live alone so I only need one TV set up at the moment so this is perfect. Already had the ps4. No equipment investment needed.

Come football season I'll have saved $500 any way and can switch to something else if needed.

Works great

There are no L1,L2,R1,R2 buttons but once you figure out the buttons that replace it it's fine. I think it's worth it and it only cost me $25
