Looking at these projectors to get one for the patio. Does anyone have any experience with projectors that could recommend any or give advice on lumens?

Yaber 6800 lumen is 239.99 on amazon
Yaber 6000 lumen is 179.99 on amazon
Yaber 4500 lumen is 89.99 on amazon
All seem to have excellent reviews.

Is it really worth the extra for the 6000 or 6800?

K thanks for the that...

And it’s not something that will stay outside
They are relatively inexpensive and it’ll be used every once in a while to watch football games or events under the patio. I’m perfectly fine with the humidity or other things causing damage to it eventually at 100-200$ price point if that’s your reasoning for advising against it

Yeah I’m gonna roll with the several hundred reviews near 5 star average on this one.
If I piss away $200.00 no biggy.

I’m asking for advice on the lumens from anyone that is familiar with using projectors for games and such, but thanks for the irrelevant to this thread, chime in from the peanut gallery.

I’m not advising getting one unless you only want to watch it when it’s dark outside. Spend the extra money for the one with the most lumens. It will still be hard to watch until the sun goes down.

More than likely their lumen rating isnt on par with other manufactures, but you will need every bit of light on an outside screen. Id suggest also buying a more reputable project model and compare. you can always return to amazon

TigerWise isn’t the peanut gallery. He’s a professional in the field. If you’re buying a projector just on claimed light output you’re making a poor buying decision.

No I’m buying based on the 191 reviews nearing 5 star average including pictures and videos of the projector being used in both darker and lighted environments, coupled with the low price point of $240.00 dollars or so.

Just FYI use Fakespot.com to see if the reviews are legit. It’s some kind of algorithm they use to determine if the reviews are genuine or computer generated.

Exactly. WHen a bargain basement product has a shite ton of great reviews I'm leery. These projectors define bargain basement products. But, the OP just wants validation. He has no interest in input from the professionals on the board.

No I’m not interested in spending a fortune on some high dollar projector

I’m willing to potentially throw away a couple hundred on a projector that will be serviceable to use maybe 5-10 times a year for LSU/saints games preferably at night.
I asked for advice of the lumens when looking at these projectors on amazon.
How hard is this to understand?

Pretty simple. The higher the number of lumens the brighter the projector. Since you are trying to out shine the sun I would get the one with the highest lumens possible. However higher lumens doesn’t equal better projector/picture.

The screen is also an important factor.

Is 6500 a good enough amount to be able to see it in the shade under patio in afternoon, or will it only work at night?

Gonna be tough. A best the colors will be washed out for sure. Even in the shade there's a ton of ambient light to deal with.

I work with projectors for simulation for flight operations, artillery operation, airborne targeting systems, etc.

What you are looking at are fake reviews on a piece of shite. Your insistence on buying into online "reviews" on a brand that isn't even recognized by the largest independent projector review site, Projector Central, tells me that you're acting kind of idiotic by refusing to conduct legitimate homework into the purchase. All you see is cheap $. Since you don't mind pissing away money, you are certainly giving credence to the saying, "a fool and his money are soon parted".

I sincerely hope you get to enjoy your hunk of junk, but over 28 years of experience in working with projectors tells me you will be severely disappointed and feel pretty foolish.

Here is an interesting article for you: Cheap projectors and how bad they are.

Point me in the direction of one you would recommend at the lower end price.

By the way this is the one I have decided to order. Planning on buying it this week.
Epson 760hd

Thanks for that, but I’ll go with the research and reviews I’ve read on this model and trust that. I’ll let you know my feelings and the level of foolishness i experience with this one don’t worry. Nice job with the 28 years by the way
