My server has worked fine for years but now all of sudden, everything is playing in SD quality even though all of my setting are for maximum quality, on server and all my external devices, its starting to piss me off and I cant figure out what the problem is. Ive tried it on my phone, multiple tvs, PS5, its all doing the same thing. What is it I am not doing to fix this or what could have caused this to start happening.

and everything i try to play it on has that ! on the logo.
We did lose internet all of last weekend so I am thinking it has something to do with that.

says indirect connection -- meaning something in your setup is preventing a direct connection, so streams are being tunneled through Plex's servers I think. It's probably forcing SD for that.

When you lost internet did you perhaps reset your devices' configuration and maybe lost port forwarding or something?

I dont think i reset anything, but i tried to get into modem/router advanced settings this morning and when i type in the 192. Address in, it doesnt come up, just doesnt load.

Just clicked on playback info on phone plex and it said

Reason for transcode: Not enough bandwidth for direct play of the item.Required bandwidth is 3039kbs and only 2000kbs is avaliable

Reboot router and all Ethernet switches if you have any. Is this wifi or hardwired?

If all else fails pull out your blu-rays

Also check the Plex server logs

why not just put them in a time capsule at this point?

my long term storage is goodwill. they're keeping all my CDs safe too.
