Photoshop help needed..

Can anybody clean this image up please.
I did it myself, but I am no pro..
This is a lot cleaner, and the darker black looks better.
But I do like the first image because it has less writing on it... But it does need to say Joe's War over I'll be home for Christmas...

I could vectorize it if you are trying to make a sticker, may be a few days before I can do it though.

Best I got...I had used letters from the original photo and arranged them to make "Joe's War" so it'd be an exact match to original but they got too blurry trying to make them big. Ended up just having to pick a font that looks similar.

I think the font is Futura fwiw. Was popular back then
