It seems like it should be possible. I need to find a way to automatically populate an excel spreadsheet with data from a pdf. Anyone know of any tools that can accomplish this?

I’m pretty sure Adobe professional can do it. Other than that, the only luck I had was cut-and-paste. and that was very hit-or-miss.

Is there not an AI program you can just throw it in to convert it?

I haven’t tried throwing a doc into AI yet to see if it will/can do what I want with it, but seems like it would be cool if I do…do.

There is but they aren’t free and they still don’t work perfectly

Qwen2.5VL is really good at this kind of stuff or more advanced documents.
Free to host and alibaba has a free chat bot at chat.qwen.ai
Not sure if they have excel tool but you can just use json or html as an intermediate format.

I wasn't looking for a singular instance. I want to automate some of the data input from office personnel. l didn't necessarily want free. I found a solution that seems like it is going to work great for me. Google Drive > Docparser > Google Sheets = no more manually inputting load tickets into excel.

Docparser's OCR is great.

OneNote reads the screen shots I put in there, I don't see why Copilot can't suck it up and Excel your PDFs.

ChatGPT sucks at it. Grok does a much better job.

I just Google a bunch of free converters and try them all until I get something usable
