OriginPC **UPDATED**

Dear Facebook.
I've had 2 OriginPC laptops and one PC (all brand new) give me problems within the past 6 months. The latest was a PC today delivered today which won't power on at all. I know "stuff happens", but it's happening a little too often for me to think it's coincidence. Buyer beware.

Stop clicking on porno ads then

OriginPC is god awful and should never ever be used. Live and learn.

Sir, I go directly to the pornography sites. I never click on ads. What kind of person do you take me for? (Plus those get filtered by my DNS sink)

I've had friends with good experiences. At first I thought it was just my luck, but maybe it's their crappy work.

There have been multiple videos out lately about the same thing as you, horror story after horror story when their pc doesn't work on arrival. 10 hours to talk to someone on support, just one person doing builds and answering calls. Total shitshow.
They've pissed off enough bigger people that they prob won't recover. Reputation is dead.

Re-image the SSD's(Assuming they are Solid State) with fresh Windows installation. Remove the factory image. Reinstall all of your drivers.
Just pretend you are building a PC from scratch and make sure all of the parts are seated properly.
What kind of motherboard did they put in the desktop PC?

This. For sure open it up and check all to make everything is plugged in all the way. Pre-builts have been known to arrive with things loosely plugged in. Much easier to check that first rather than dealing with customer service who are generally clueless about computer issues.

Thanks for the suggestion. I've been away on vacation so haven't had a chance to do anything. I alerted them of the issue and they want to do a 'troubleshooting' call tomorrow. Hopefully it's as something as simple as a loose card.
The motherboard is a MSI MEG X570 Ace.

Update:
PC trips 15 amp AFCI breaker in my office when the power button is pressed. This is repeatable.
PC trips GFCI on 15 amp normal breaker in kitchen area. This is repeatable.
PC seems to work on 20 amp normal breaker without GFCI. I say 'seems' because I just powered the desktop without monitor, etc.
I removed the graphics card (RTX 3080) and tried to power the system on the original circuit in my office (15 amp AFCI). The breaker immediately trips when I hit the power button.
This is fairly stream-lined system. 5900X CPU, RTX 3080, and a couple of drives. That's it.
OriginPC is sending a replacement power supply. My concern is that there is an electrical short issue. My only other thought was to buy a hefty UPS to see if it keeps the breaker from 'seeing' a possible phantom/false arc. Any other ideas appreciated.

I was going to say that you should probably check the power supply...because MSI has good motherboards and I've seen issues like this in the past where vendors spec out a pre-build and don't provide a large enough power supply. What model and size is your power supply?
Have you tried removing your memory sticks(RAM) and swapping them around? Try powering on your system with just one stick in the primary RAM slot and if that doesn't work swap it and try to power on with the other stick. Memory card failure can cause issues like this too.
Also try booting with all other peripherals removed (Network card, sound card, and any other PCI devices)
A few years ago I had a brand new Dell PowerEdge Server that wouldn't power on. I swapped processors, RAM sticks, and it still wouldn't boot. I finally removed the network card and it booted right up. After that I got Dell to send me a replacement network card.

Thanks for the feedback.
I chose a power supply above their minimum recommended configuration to a Corsair RM1000i Series Plus Gold (1000W). I didn't want power to be an issue if I later decided to add something to it plus I do not like running things to their ragged edge. There are no other peripherals as they are all integrated into the motherboard. The graphics card is the only PCI device. Other specs below:
Case : Corsair 500D
Processors: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X 12-Core 3.7GHz (4.8GHz Max Boost)
Motherboard: MSI MEG X570 ACE
Memory: 32GB CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM - WHITE 3200MHz RGB (2x16GB)
System Cooling: CORSAIR H100i PRO XT RGB
System Fans: CORSAIR SP120 PRO Performance iCUE RGB controlled by iCUE software
Graphics Cards: NVIDIA 10GB GeForce RTX 3080
Operating System: MS Windows 10 Home
Operating System Drive: 250GB Samsung 980 PRO
Hard Drive: 1TB Samsung 970 EVO Plus NVMe M.2
Power Supply: CORSAIR RM1000i SERIES PLUS GOLD
Audio: Integrated High-Definition Audio
Networking: Onboard Network Port

The power supply is overkill for the system. I'd say this points to a faulty power supply because unless you've ocerloaded your 15 amp circuits a desktop computer should not trip the breaker with your configuraton.

Yeah that's gotta be a PSU issue.
BTW, you can go to pcpartpicker.com, put in your components in a build and it'll give you a power draw that you can use in sizing your PSU.

Thanks for the thought. With everything added to pcpartpicker.com I see an estimated wattage of 559W. Hopefully it's just a PSU issue.

Did they do any kind of burn-in on the system before shipping it out?
Posted on 2/9/21 at 8:51 pm to VABuckeye
I don't think they do a 24 hour burn-in. Unsure what their policy is. I got a folder with benchmark scores, but I think my wife cleaned it up as I can't locate it.
EDIT:
Found the paperwork. They do a "CPU Overnight Stress" described as:
Prime Burn-in
Cinebench (OpenGL Score: 263.91 fps, CPU Score: 3631.41 pts)
Heaven Score: 5414
Linx Test

Update: OriginPC sent me a replacement PSU so I just swapped it out. The problem remains. No idea why this happens with this PC and not my other PCs, but at this point I'm looking at doing something with the breaker.
