Bought an HP laptop back in about 2014 with no touch screen. I'm looking for specifications and support on it now, but when I search for my product number the ONLY result I get are for a touchscreen laptop. Any idea how I can find info on the non-touchscreen version? According to HP, my laptop apparently never existed.

Why does touch screen matter? If you don’t have touch screen and that is not your issue, will not the other documentation do?

The best way to get the specs on it is to enter the BIOS at startup. You can also go into the Windows Device Manager. What info are you looking for?

Will windows update put hardware updates? Might be your best bet. Or see if HP has an auto update still.

I just want to make sure I have the right product. I don't have any of the original packaging for the laptop and I'm not confident that the documentation for this touchscreen laptop is correct for my laptop.

I want to know if HP is still providing active support/updates/drivers/etc. for this model or if it has reached end of lifecycle.

There is a free program called Speccy that may help you. I have used it several times. You can find it here. LINK

Good Luck

Serial number and product number both pop up the "HP Notebook - 15-ay014dx (Touch) (ENERGY STAR)" on the HP support site. Product number is x7w84ua#aba. The "#aba" doesn't show up on the HP site, but the rest of it matches that notebook.

How do you know that yours doesn't have a touchscreen? Maybe it's broken or disabled.
