The Crave Pro is a more traditional 2.1 music speaker that's likely to remain wherever you put it in the home. It gets a little louder than the 360 at 102 dB, and dual subwoofers mean the bass response should be superior as well. Both devices feature a nice satin aluminum finish, so from a design perspective, they're definitely a step up from most Bluetooth speakers. And each has a glass touch dial that can be turned for for volume or tapped and swiped for playback controls.
Unlike Sonos, where you can only play back music over Wi-Fi or plugged in directly, Vizio's new SmartCast speakers do include Bluetooth support. But like its rival, the company firmly believes that Wi-Fi — and in this case Google Cast — provide a better listening experience.

I have 1 Play:5 (older model) and 2 Play:1s from Sonos and love them. I'd have to listen to the new Vizio BUT I'm a firm believer in more competition = better for the consumers.
That being said, Sonos is due to get their asses in gear and make newer/updated products. They recently upgraded the Play 5 and it looks better and sounds better. The Play:1s, Play:3s and Playbar have been out for years now and could use a good refresh.

They definitely made waves in the audio industry. Big players like Bose and Def Tech came out with wifi speakers and amps of their own.
As far as getting their asses in gear they just made a huge announcement with 3rd party integration. Control4, Crestron, Lutron, Savant, etc are all going to be showing off their drivers at CEDIA next week. The Lutron pico with audio is such a cool piece.
As far as Vizio I would expect the same quality as their TV. Designed to meet a price point.

When you say this are you referring to something such as audio control of those items THRU the Sonos? That'd be nice.
I was unaware of this so that's cool. Thx TigerWise.

i'm wrong.
its $299 for the 1 speaker with 2 internal subs.
it will bridge to the $250 speaker or other $299 speakers like sonos to play music throughout the house.

when y'all say Sonos is "wifi", does that mean you can't play locally stored music if the Internet is down?

Pretty cool. I'll wait for CNET reviews before I make a decision.

You'll be fine, your files are on your intranet so you don't need internet to play them.
