they are my new lutrons. same as all the others i have. now that i THINK (not sure) about it I think the one that is giving me trouble is the one on the 3way switch. I did not disable the 2nd switch. could this be causeing it?

also my honeywell thermostat just isnt working on the wink app. it is connected and everything but when i open it it says it is 78 in the house and the temp is set to 78 when it is like 70 and set to 70. i just went back to the honeywell app and said screw it.

ah, sorry missed this update

i'm still not clear on the issue. is the STATE wrong when you open your wink app? the state of the switch itself (leds on it)? the switch isn't responding when you click it in the app? still a tiny bit confused as to the issue.

yep, thats just how it works. the correct temp of the rooms is being reported, but if you change the thermostat directly on the unit itself and not the wink app, the app isn't refreshing to show the current state.

this is a relatively recent development so i don't know if wink isn't calling the honeywell API properly (because its correct in that app) or something else.

my money is that wink is either using a deprecated API call to retrieve that info from the cloud and honeywell removed it, or the wink programmers just broke it on a recent update.

(or given, what i know about wink, both.)

2. ok thanks.

1.
Scenario #1 ok say the light is off. I toggle the switch in the app. The light turns one and the toggle switch goes bright. after about a second, the toggle switch goes back dim(off), without clicking it, but the light says on.

Scenario #2, i click the physical switch of the light on. Look at the app and the app switch is off and never updates to be on. I click the app switch and the switch turns on, then click it again, and it goes off as does the light.

hmm, thats really odd. do you have a neutral in the lightswitch box? is it possible you wired up wrong? since the lutron doesn't require a neutral its possible it will still work without it but maybe its getting confused with whatever information its sending back to the wink api. with a 3-way light you'd have what..4..5 wires hooked up to it?

are all the lutron switches the same model? the other lightswitch shouldn't be causing a problem but maybe your wife is turning that switch 'off' or 'on' and when the lutron acts up, its because that switch has been toggled. i'd try a couple experiments with the switch 'up' and 'down' and see what happens.

they are all the same switch. same ebay robot when they get cheap. It could be the wiring. im going to see if this is dependent to one switch or just the latest ones i installed.

then ill check the actual wiring. there is a ground and that is connected. When i wired it i didnt mess with the 2nd switch. I just removed the red wire and then connected the line wires together. i might need to go back through that wiring to make sure it is ok.

I also found out that TCP non dimmable a19s flicker on and off when on full power but are at 0-90%. but TCP BR30 non dimmable bulbs work fin on all setting.

also try it with the second switch in both the on and off positions and see what happens.

wait, confused. you have non-dimmable LEDs on the dimmable lutron switch?

Anyone know if schlage and wink have worked out their issues with the battery drain issue? I know it doesn't happen to everyone but I have 4 schlage connects that were literally chewing through batteries every few days. I removed from wink a month or so ago and now they work fine. However kinda not what I intended with a smart home hub. A few hub updates have roled out but I don't know if the bug was covered.

yep. I converted to all LED in my house before moving toward automation. so the LED BR30's and a19's were the cheap TCP brand from amazon when they were super cheap. But they were non dimmable.

COme to find out the BR30s are able to dim just fine. The a19s on the other hand, will dim. but When the switch is on 100% they flicker on and off. I read this will happen with non dimmable LEDs on a dimmable switch. IDK why, i have form dimmable a19s coming in to day and im going to switch out.

Cad,

I remember reading that you use a sensor in your mailbox to let you know when it's delivered.

Are you using a motion sensor or a door/window sensor?

There's a monoprice zwave sensor sale on slickdeals and didn't know if any of those would work for the mailbox project.

I have tons of smart stuff in my house, but none of the sensors...

these guys

they're in the little go control kits that amazon and home depot sell as well. great sensors; going on 2 years with my outdoor sensors on the pool gates & mailbox and no sign of the battery going out.

eta mailbox is down a hill about 140ft from the hub and has never gone offline. these sensors are pretty bad-arse.

Yes, the last updates seem to have squashed the bug for the majority of users.

Thanks.

Just ordered this sensor from Amazon. The reviews state that it works fine with wink.

CAD, just sold the premium kit for $140. Highest I've seen in awhile. Better get to listing if you hadn't yet.

Is there any talk of new versions of Doorbell cameras coming out? you know something without a paid cloud, where i can just record it to my surveillance system.
