y'all are hurting my feelings.

GE lied to me and said the C by GE would be compatible with wink like 8 months ago.

the C by GE app suuuuscks. i installed it fresh the other day after not having used it in months and after a factory reset of my phone..when attempting to connect to the bulbs it crashed 3x in a row..then i uninstalled.

i'm about to return mine as well.

Cad,

Prior to purchasing a bunch of dimmers and switches i wanted to know if there an easy way to find out if my wiring has neutrals? If I don't what are my options? I read somewhere that the Lutron Caserta line does not need a neutral, is that true?

Look for a white wire or bundle of wires in back of box not connected to the switch.

would it make me a terrible person if i returned my wink hub v1 for a $69 store credit and applied that credit towards the new hub considering i paid a penny for it 2 years ago?

sorry i missed the question. 99% chance your home has neutrals but do yourself a favor and take a pic of the inside of your box and post it here prior to starting. you will save yourself tons of frustration because it takes a hot minute to get the hang of how electrical boxes are wired so having us to guide you through you first couple of switch swaps will help.

I say do it. Make an official wink v2 thread. I'm holding out until they drop the price to a penny. I'll just get up to turn my lights off and save the money for now.

Yes, yes it would. I won't be able to offer you any more deals if you say you did that

ETA: I've seen the Leaksmart valves have dropped to $36 if you can find any still.

The Coursey HD has turned into a Flood Superstore with 1000 employees and they have removed any and all clearance endcaps, and I can't find any parking spots during lunch

Why are you acting like you don't already have one from that big NDA you signed?

They've hinted at new products coming soon as well as possibly more "buy this crap, get discount on hub" deals

Says earliest delivery mid November.

The last thing a guy with a new house wants to do it wait.

I assume It's ok to start changing out outlets and switches prior to having the hub.

Yes, everything will function normally without a hub.

Eta: most outlets and smart bulbs that I know of revert to on after power restoration. Something that can be quite an annoyance if you experience frequent power outages.

Cad,

What is a good price for the schlage connect on eBay? Also where do you find the matching handle to go along with the deadbolt?

I wouldn't spend over $130 for a schlage on eBay or the refurb. Schlage will send you a brand new one if the one you have doesn't work no questions asked.

I paid $80 for my last one on eBay and schlage sent me 2 to replace it when it didn't work and let me keep the broken one too.

As for the matching knob, check the schlage site for the matching one you like then key that product id into eBay and get it cheap there.
