80 dollars a month with 3 TV's with HBO and showtime is a good deal. I would just stick with DTV. I am guessing this is a introductory rate though.

Somebody help me see the light here about cutting the cord....
I have DTV with 3 Genies with HBO & Showtime.
I pay $80 a month roughly.
How much more money am I really going to save if I have to have:
-Roku for 3 TV's
-Netflix
-HBOGO
-Showtime Stream
-HuluPlus
-HD Antenna (3)
I'm sure I left something off the list, but I guess I just don't see that much of a benefit
You must still have all of the introductory promotions. You bill wont stay that low for long..

looking to cut the cord. I have the following in place already:
HBOGo login, ESPN3 login, roku, 2 sets of basic rabbit ears, and chromecast (I have 2 TV's)
The main things I watch on cable TV (that I'm not for sure is on Hulu) are:
1. college sports
2. NFL
4. Parts Unknown
5. Vikings
6. Face/Off
Does anyone know where to find these shows?
Is there any equipment I'm lacking that the board recommends I invest in?

FireTV w/ Kodi installed gets you everything you need. Although you can stream Kodi to Chromecast but Ive never done that.

Would 6 mbps be enough for streaming?

Can someone give me a rec. on an antenna (preferably not an attic mount) that will be able to pick up a CBS station about 55 miles away?

I am looking into getting slingtv. I got an xbox 360 from my brother but I have ran it about a year.
the slingtv comes with a free roku or a 50% roku 3. Is roku 3 worth getting?

Getting ready to cut the cord and cancel DirecTV, do I have everything I need?
So far I have..
SlingTV w/ sports and HBO
Netflix
Hulu
Rabbit Ears (tested it out and works fine)
Cox Preferred Internet Package (Speed test was 30 mbps during SlingTV stream)
On DireTV I usually watch..
ESPN
Major Networks for the News
HGTV
DIY Network
Girlfriend watches ABC Family and Lifetime
Projected savings: $72/Month (didn't have HBO with DTV)
Any other suggestions, or am I good to go? Also for those who have canceled DirecTV, did you have to ship your equipment back, or does someone come pick it up?

Moving to a new house in August. I want to be able to watch local network and espn, sec network, and hbo if possible. Anyway to get all of this with no cable or dish provider? Any help appreciated.

You will more than likely need an outdoor antenna on a high mast in order to pick up stations at that distance.
HERE is a link for some good advice on selecting an antenna.

Netflix
Get either Netflix or Amazon Prime, but not both. Prime will give you two-day free shipping on your orders from Amazon in addition to Amazon's library of TV and music.

All of my research said that this antenna should get me the channels that I want, but WBRZ and WAFB, the two most important to me, go in and out.
WBRZ and WAFB both broadcast on the upper VHF band. Those flat antennas do not do well with the longer wavelengths unless you are very close to the station. Get one specifically designed for both UHF and VHF.

I saw this on my Cox New Orleans bill and was wondering what impact these new "mini boxes" will have on cutting the cord.
"As Cox prepares to transition all customers to a 100% digital platform, we will offer a new equipment option, called the "mini box," starting on August 31th, 2015. The mini box will enable access to all digital channels in our Cox TV Starter service, select digital channels in our Cox TV Essential service, the on-screen program guide and parental control features. The standard monthly fee for this equipment option will be $2.99 per mini box."
Does this mean that if you have Cox internet, you can pay $3 per month for a mini box to get your local channels then get all other channels through Sling TV? This seems easier than purchasing and setting up an antenna. Also I heard there may be a promotion making these mini boxes free for a year or so.

You'll need at least an attic mount. I've tried a mohu leaf and rabbit ears and both were no good to pick up stations 45 miles away. A co worker of mine has an attic mount antenna which he uses to catch CBS and ABC affiliates from Beaumont in Lake Charles.

So, IPTV went private earlier this week. Now a donation is needed. Basically, direct tv began suing end users and the advice is to delete iptv stalker. If you want to pay to use it you can. The party is apparently over with stalker.

Ahhh, this makes sense after watching some YouTube videos of folks saying to uninstall IPStalker immediately.
Thanks for the heads up bud
Any idea how much the subscription is?

yeah. comcast is similar. the difference is the antenna would get you hd, but the little box will not.

I sideloaded KODI on to a new Fire Stick I just got, and holy shite.
I haven't even started to install every app recommended by Repo yet. Just Genesis, Phoenix and I think IPUTV or something like that.
Is this going to work forever or will someone eventually shut this kind of thing down?

Almost definitely will eventually shut down. And something will likely pop up and take its place. It will probably take a big industry (or perhaps legal, but less likely) change for there to stop being cyclical popular pirate streams available.
