It already exists, but what Apple "might" (hopefully) will do is make retail point of sale terminals for NFC more ubiquitous.
For some reasons, despite the millions of devices out there with NFC and some type of mobile wallet this show hasn't gotten on the road yet. Hopefully Apple can give it a little nudge so everyone can benefit.

opinion not a fact
As I said "claimed"
This is apples opinion & even though I will buy the phone bc I like the OS, I see the potential for more with the phone itself. Sometimes it amazes me how apple will lag on technology & let others pass them up on. For example the water resistance on the galaxy, I don't know how good it works but damn apple catch up. Heart rate monitor on the galaxy phone itself, damn apple I gotta buy a $350 phone extension to get this from u guys.

One thing it has going is the paying with the phone. I'm pretty sure they are the first.
I had NFC on my Verizon Galaxy Nexus in December 2011...

What's the verdict on 4.7 vs 5.5?
I can't decide and I want to pre order one with the 64 GB

Yes It is.
I had an LG G3 briefly. Big phone, but if you're comfortable with it you'll be comfortable with a 6+. It's half an inch taller but about the same width and thinner/lighter.

HTC one m7 is a 4.7 inch and on par with the iPhone 6. The LG G3 is about on par with the 6+. With respect to sizes.

did the Galaxy nexus allow you to make mobile payments, in a store? or simple to touch phones?

very cool!
my nexus 5 is almost exact size of iphone 6 (screen appears to be a tiny bit bigger) and the 6s is definitely larger

neither
galaxy nexus simply provided NFC (like bluetooth, wifi, etc.)
google wallet uses NFC to allow you to tap a credit card pad at starbucks, etc to purchase something.

So apple isn't the first to introduce it, but their bringing it to every phone your purchase after the 6 is market changing.

Yea, looks like the regular 6 will be enough for me.

Apple will definitely help it spread a lot in the USA which will be great for everyone. Google gave me $10 when I signed up for Google Wallet back then and I transferred some funds into it immediately and tried using it where I could. It's great and I am glad Apple got on board. More adoption of it is a win for all of us.

How does apple preorders work? Do they only have a limited amount? I've never worried with preordering and just got the new phones a month or so after they were released but my screen is cracked on my current phone so I'd mine to order a new one ASAP

Every Galaxy phone since 2011 has had NFC.
EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.

Aaaaaand? Clearly they didn't have the ability to make it as widespread as it seems Apple will be able to. It doesn't matter when it was introduced if you can't use it in practical situations anywhere.

Most of the companies Apple listed....I can pay using NFC at their stores. Have been able to for a couple years now.
wtf are you babbling about?

You know it will cause a lot more mass adoptions to it, especially the consumer side. I rarely see it used right now and people sort of wonder wtf I am doing when I use it and even have people ask me how I did that. After the 6 releases, that will totally change.

I hardly see it anywhere, so I don't know what you're babbling about.
