I read where Nintendo is going to release an upgraded version of the Switch sometime next year. If that is accurate should I hold off for that or just roll with the current system? I have no idea what additional features may be added in any upgraded console.

This would be for my tween daughter who I already have a solid set of Christmas gifts for this year so this wouldn’t be a deal breaker this year if I decide to hold off. But it would be a hell of a surprise.

I think if you want it now is the time.

Good games are finally coming out on it. Check belk.com, search for a discount code. I saw it for $220.00 like 3 weeks ago on there.

the switch hasn't even been out a full 2 years, this is not going to happen, it's the Wall Street Journal sticking their hands up their arse and writing whatever comes out.

It seems like people really love the Switch. I’m trying to keep myself from buying it for the kids but it looks awesome.

It's all rumor, I don't think they will do an upgrade on year 2

The switch is awesome for me. The portability is a huge plus since I can play it most anywhere and with the quick suspend/resume I can play even in a few minute bursts. Sometimes if I'm watching football I'll just undock it and play during commercials and halftime.

With kids and a wife frequently trying up the TV when I do have time to play it's awesome. I have a ps4 that I haven't played a game on in probably almost 2 years.

I somewhat subscribe to the patient gaming philosophy so I'm just starting breath of the wild and it is awesome. Mario odyssey was awesome too. I also have Mario plus rabbids which was an unexpectedly great game too. One of these days I'll get smash. There's splatoon and arms and a bunch of other games that are supposed to be good too.

Tldr: do it. Maybe let your kids play it too

I wouldn’t think Nintendo would do this, but they may do like an XBOX One S or X thing where it’s the same games but it could have a little bit better specs or something, idk. I don’t think they have ever done that.

I hate how slow it is on Civ 6, especially later in the game.
