Reference Calibration
I obtained this using the following RGB settings:
Red - 248
Green - 246
Blue - 255
You can see that R/G/B line up perfectly and create a perfect shade of gray and D6500K

Mine is pretty inconsistent. It does well coming out of my pocket, but picking it up from a desktop or whatever is hit and miss.

I have mine on my desk/table pretty much 24/7 and it never screws up, pops up just about every single time for me.

I am looking at this phone. Currently have an iPhone 4s. Would it be hard to swap over? I have been an apple guy since the 3s. All I will do is surf the web, play clash of clans, and look at titty pics. Any comments on the phone nexus 6 would be useful. TIA.

Talk to ILikeLSUToo I believe he switched from the 4S after being all Apple before as well and he is really enjoying it.
The phone is fantastic.

That's correct, all iPhones since 2007, went from 4s to the Nexus 6. There was a short period of time, maybe a week, where the phone felt "big" but not necessarily too big. Shortly thereafter, I concluded that I am a phablet guy and just never knew it. Fast forward a little over a month, I helped my parents with their iPhone 4Ses over Christmas, and it felt like a phone for a toddler.
I can only comment on this phone and the stock android experience as whole. Therefore, I can't help you much in choosing it vs. Note 4, G3, M8, and everything else out there. But it seems stock Android is better suited for me than iOS -- again, something I didn't know until now. It may be because I'm a techie, so I also cannot comment on those who just want the convenience of iOS in terms of how dead simple it is to switch from iPhone to iPhone. I can say that this phone has the same out-of-the-box, ready-to-go appeal that people seem to like about iOS. But unlike iOS, you can do many things to make it even better than that.

Thanks. I want a phablet, but don't want to pay for the 6+.

I can confirm that the Nexus 6 does work with pictures of titties.

6+ doesn't have shite on the Nexus 6, so good choice regardless.

I got the 6 for christmas through AT&T. So far I have only rooted it to get rid of that god-awful boot sound, but now I see I'm still on 5.0 instead of 5.0.1. I guess AT&T is delaying the update?
I have done a good bit of experimenting in the past, but I want to stay pretty close to stock with this phone. Should I just flash the factory image from Google? My bootloader is already unlocked, so this shouldn't wipe the phone, correct? Or is there another way to get more timely OTA updates that bypass AT&T's delays?

I have mine through AT&T and I got the OTA update alert for 5.0.1 a good while ago. I was unlocked, rooted, and decrypted at the time so I flashed a new ROM with 5.0.1 already there. Now I'm waiting for a stock ROM with 5.0.2. Custom ROMs seem to be the fastest way to get updates.

Mine is still encrypted. It doesn't feel sluggish to me, but maybe that's because I'm coming from an S3. Will I be absolutely blown away by the improvement if I decrypt?

The only real noticeable improvement was recording in 4K. When encrypted, write speed was just a little too low to keep up and there was a lot of stuttering.

I would almost always run a kernel, keep the stock rom but under the hood pick a kernel you like.
ElementalX, LeanKernel, Faux, and Franco are the best ones. Can't go wrong with any of them.
Battery life, gamma control, cpu and gpu tweaks for enhancements. Kernels are a must.

Are you still using ElementalX? I saw some buzz about Franco but wasn't sure if there was any reason to switch.
I really really wish someone would get OK Google sorted out on AOSP ROMs

Yeah still using ElementalX for now, waiting for Faux or Franco to get a couple of updates out before switching.
I used Faux pretty much exclusively on my N5, him and Franco are the 2 best in the biz.

I haven't changed much in ElementalX. Can't figure out whether changing the CPU governor really helps.

So today I FINALLY got the notification that 5.0.1 was ready to install, it had already downloaded and verified the update, so I clicked install. It rebooted and... dead android error during update. It rebooted itself, and the system update check says I'm up to date, but I'm still on 5.0.
Huge fail. Leave it to AT&T to totally frick up the best part about a Nexus.
