Motorola usually puts a LED light in the speaker. Can be accessed when rooted.

Otherwise it hides until it detects you are looking at the screen, either via just tilting it up a bit on the table, or completely picking it up to your face, in which it shows the notifications, and you can then just touch the notification and it will launch the app for it from a single touch.
You can download the app from the playstore that allows the sensors to be continuously polled, but that crushes the battery life.

Leaning towards G3 now again, but if they can create Bump for the ATT G3, is there hope for the ATT Note 4 to realistically get unlocked, you think?

That's exactly what I said tard. It uses the sensors in the phone and the gyroscope to "listen" for movement and trigger the notifications.
However on the Moto X you can choose how long it listens, unlike in PA. Big difference in battery between using 100 pixels of an AMOLED screen to display it and using the full screen of an LCD, so PA is locked.

Not anymore they don't, they invented the active display technology and don't use an LED anymore, there is not one on the Moto X or Nexus 6, the 2 phones that use active display.

The day the 9 went up for pre-order it wasn't up yet in the morning. I chatted with someone from their support, and he said they usually add things around noon. I assume that means noon Pacific time, but not sure.

start clicking the site around 10:50AM central and you'll likely see it before 11.
when i bought the nexus4 i bought it about 10 minutes before 11 and by the time 11am rolled around it was sold out.

Soooo, the wife has a G3 I just got her from radio shack about 3 weeks ago. The reciept says last day to return is 11/2.
Man, I'm not so sure about a phone that big, but I'm tempted to give her my rooted 851 G3 and return her att G3 for the nexus 6. Should I? Should I?

it does not hide until you tilt your phone or detects you looking at the screen. once it hides, you cant see it again until you get another notification,

I'm obviously talking about the Moto X 2014 dumby, what the N6 is based off.
It, like the Nexus 6, does not have an LED because they both use active display.

Yes it does, for a predetermined amount of time you can set.
Paranoid Android for example, lasts for 10 seconds. You can set it to as high as 30 seconds.

Eh, I like a white back myself.
Never had a white iPhone though because the fronts are also white, which is ugly as can be and looks terrible.
I think only Samsung has a white front now right? The G3 is black around the screen and the top, the N5 and N6 are all black on the front too.

Do they stay clean? I'd worry about getting something on it that wouldn't come off, and it would bug the shite out of me.
