New TV

Alright so I've done some extensive research wading through the jungle that is buying a new TV. 4K, HDR, Dolby Vision, Quantum Dot, wide color gamuts, local-dimming. Theres enough jargon to make you go crazy.
I'm a mid 20's with not a huge budget, so this makes my options somewhat more limited. What i have come to understand however is that true HDR (10-bit panel) is the most important factor in the next televolution of devices. I know there is not a lot of HDR content currently to take advantage of, but we will slowly start to see more and more. 4K is kind of an added bonus, but HDR is the real meat.
My original budget for a new TV was $500-900, and desired size 55". From what I've gathered, that seems to be a hard price point to get a TV with true HDR capabilities.
I know everyone is starting to release their 2017 models. Samsung recently released the MU series, not sure of improvements on those models.
Looking for advice.

They out
I would jump on that KS8000 Jax just posted. That panel has true HDR capabilities
You can also probably find a XBR55X700D. There are plenty out there even though it's last year's model. Doesn't do HDR as well as the KS8000 but still a good display at that price point.

You should be able to find a good 4k. Like above poster said , I've seen 55 Samsung at Sam's around that $900 max.
Honestly I went from LCD to Plasma to LED/3D. Im sure I'll get ripped for this on the TB , but I can't notice a difference. If I were you I'd wait till you can afford an OLED. Im ignorant on 4k but reminds me of 3D TV's. Kind of a gimmick to make money, but technology will be passed too soon.
Hell I've seen TV's you stick on your wall. All those suckers who bought the curved ones, are soon to be not as cool.
To sum it up, by the TV you like that you can afford.

I have the 65" Samsung KS800 and it's great. I would definitely go smaller with HDR than getting a bigger non HDR tv. To get the real benefit of 4K, you have to be sitting fairly close. While you can see the HDR difference further away.

LED is still an LCD screen. It's not some extreme difference in picture, just LED backlights
And yes, 3D tvs were a gimmick, just like curved. But not so with 4K and more importantly HDR, both are definite improvements in quality when watching shows in that format
