My Garage TV just bit the dust - need replacement.

I have an 8 year-old 42" Dynex HDTV that I watch when I'm on the treadmill or grilling outside. I have it mounted on the wall in my garage, and do not have an HD receiver hooked to it - just standard definition. It bit the dust yesterday as I can only hear the sound, but the picture won't come on.
I want to replace it, and went to Craiglist, but it is stupid how much people want for their used tv's. "This TV 32" Sony cost $3K back in 2007, so I think it's worth at least $250 today."
I can get a brand-new Westinghouse 40" TV for $149.99 at Best Buy. I'm not sure if that will hold up outside. Even though we don't get extremely hot or cold weather here in Oregon that often, we still do get occasional extremes.
Any thoughts on what I should get? I don't want to spend a lot, and was hoping to find a used one for under $100. If I'm patient, I may find it, but that $150 TV from Best Buy has me thinking that may be the way to go.
What would you do if you were you?

Just go buy any B teir TV that's out there. I'd trade you a new in box 40" 1080p for beer but shipping a TV that size across the country would be 50/50 shot of it making it undamaged.
How the TV in your living room ? You could always go bigger there and move that TV into garage.

That's going to be the norm at that range of the market. I got a TCL Roku TV for my gym last year for about $220 - it has essentially a Roku 3 built in, so it was a good value. Decent picture, crummy sound. It is what it is.

Costco has a 39" Visio Smart TV with built in WiFi for $229. I may be leaning in that direction, if I can stream movies in HD.
To the earlier question, my living room TV is fine. We don't want to spend the money, right now, so I'm looking to go as cheap as I can on this one.

Prime day had a 32" tcl with roku for $119 so if your patient you could find something there around 100 new. Try your local pawn shop as well
