Memtest 86 - Only failing with 2 DIMMS - Help?

Hoping there is some techies here that could suggest my next steps....
I have a intel nuc6i7kyk that I use as a Plex server; tons of intermittent issues that I thought was Windows 10, but I switched it to Ubuntu and it still isn't working right.
I have ran Memtest: DIMM 1 in slot 1, pass. DIMM 1 in slot 2, pass. DIMM 2 in slot 1, pass. DIMM 2 in slot 2, pass
The issue is whenever I have 2 DIMMS in: DIMM 1 in slot 1 and DIMM 2 in slot 2; fail (Tons of errors on first test, I just cancel it). Exact same for DIMM 1 in slot 2, DIMM in slot 1.
I ordered the RAM together as a pair, everything matches up....the serial numbers are only 1 letter apart, so it seems they are compatible. On the interwebs people are talking about doing all sorts of crazy things with timing, etc., so I to the point where I either run 1 DIMM or order another pair.
Any other suggestions? Is it possible there is a short between the two slots when they are both in? (Super tight spacing in the NUC.
TIA.

Sounds like bad chipset on the motherboard.
You might be able to tweak some bios settings and get it to limp error free.
Try going unganged or look for any timing settings that change when you use two dimms. Odds are it changes modes with two sticks.

What are the specs on the RAM? Possible you got the wrong RAM? Google says DDR4-2133+ 1.2V, 1.35V SO-DIMM.
Might try
1 - is there a bios update available for it?
2- Do you have any more DDR4 stick to try?
3 - limp along on one stick and order some new RAM, further isolate it down to the mainboard.

It sounds like a mobo issue rather than a RAM issue.
Check out what version of BIOS your running then see if there's an update. If so, update the BIOS then see if the issue persists.
