Trying to decide between these two. Will just be for a computer to have at home so not worried about storage space and all that. Any suggestions?

Really comes down to how good of a screen you want.

I have a 2012 pro, and I don't think I'll go that route on my next one. I bought it thinking I'd do more, but essential it's for web surfing, lite word processing, and picture storage. I think my next laptop will

The Pro screen is much better. Much high resolution, waaaaay more colors.

I have the MacBook, which I got to replace a MBP, and it works great. Handles my work (law) and things like lightroom with ease.

I have a 14' Air at home and it does the job of basic computing needs for me well.

I did however recently purchase the new 10.5 iPad Pro and haven't touched my laptop (outside of Word processing) since. Thing is a beast.

I'm in the same boat...

I just need it for web surfing maybe a little WatchEspn, fantasy football, light picture editing basic stuff.

I saw an Open Box Pro at BB for 1182 and a brand new air for 889 with same processor and same memory. Obviously the retina display is key but besides that?

i already have a basic Imac for desktop.

had my macbook air since 2012. Still runs like a whistle. Had to replace the battery once.

Never before had such a great piece of tech.

Spilled coffee and water on it and it still runs great.

My last two have been a MacBook Pro. Current one has been having some issues so ordered a MacBook Air to replace it. Hopefully I didn't make a mistake.
