Does anyone know if there is a way to set up a Lorex IP camera without using an NVR? I just want to view locally and don’t want to spend the money on the NVR.

I know nothing about Lorex, specifically. Does the camera have native RTSP or ONVIF? If so, you should be able to view it with VLC media player

It should work with blue iris. I migrated to this software and it is excellent.

Blue iris was the suggested solution I saw on reddit. That was probably my next route before just returning the camera.

Did you look up to see if it has RTSP? If so, it should be a very simple process. Like 2 minutes.

I used an old PC (under $300 new) to install Blue Iris for my Lorex IP cams. Works fine.

I thought I would be programming all kinds of shite to set up blue iris but it was 100 times simpler than that. It's a great piece of software.

I downloaded blue iris and had it working in 3 minutes.

Are these rebadged hikvision or dahua cameras?
