The new Android update is completely garbage. It's basically useless now. I'm having to use my other phone that I didn't update yet to newest version

This is ridiculous. My directvnow was working fine on firetv and my iPad until I updated the apps. Now I’m being told I don’t have a subscription. Can let get anyone to reply via tweet DM or chat function on the website. It seems directv now has a habit of launching things early. This update obviously wasn’t ready.

This shite is frustrating as frick and I’m kicking myself for boxing myself in a corner with amazon devices because of sales and promos.
I can’t even get in touch with someone to yell at to get free shite.

Same here. I tried three times to Chat with someone last night on my phone. Every time the chat window would randomly disappear and take me to self support page. I saw on Twitter where Directv Now was telling people to DM them on twitter so I did that. There response was to go to their website and open a chat session. Each time I started a Chat, the wait time got longer and longer.
Been chatting for over 30 minutes this AM and I'm being transferred to another department b/c my account "didn't transfer over". whatever in the hell that means.

It sounds like this transition is going terribly. I know the perception is that DTVN is a good deal, especially if it's bundled with AT&T wireless, but when you add things like the cost of the premium version of the DVR, how much are you really saving vs. Sling or PSVue? One of the advantages of the new streaming world is you aren't locked into contracts or a limited number of regional providers, so it's easy to switch if they aren't meeting your needs.

I'd love to change. But I signed up with Directv Now on the first day they went live. So I've always had the go big package of 100+ channels plus HBO for only $35/month. Their service (and customer service) leave a lot to be desired, but I don't think I can get another package anywhere close to this.
Sling appears to be more expensive.
Youtube TV is pretty tempting, but I have FireTV and Firesticks which don't work with YoutubeTV so I'd have to replace everything with Roku or Apple TV
PS Vue is more expensive and I didn't see Nick Jr as an option which is one of the 4-5 channels watched in my house.
Hulu also doesn't have nick jr.

So to get everything I have with DTVNow on Sling you have to get the Blue and Orange packages (at least thats how it was the last I checked) which was like 50-55 bucks per month. I'm at 35 per for DTVNow...so 15-20 per more. I'm pretty sure everything else for the service I have is more expensive as well.
For PSVue....the last time I checked we couldn't get them if we were using Cox internet in the Lafayette, LA area. I haven't checked that in probably 3-4 months but the impression I got is that that problem wasn't high on their list of things to fix so I wrote off PS Vue.
I got the new app on my FireTV Box last night and it seems fine...it seemed worse on my FireTV stick which I installed it on in the kitchen. I'm holding off on the stick I have in my kid's entertainment room.
