My work laptop has never had an issue connecting to my home WiFi. Laptop works on office WiFi, mifi, hotspot, and other networks. Just not my home WiFi. I have had IT dept log in to no avail. I have logged out, reset WiFi many attempts. Still will not work. I’m at a loss. Any ideas at all?

its you then.

give us some details; router, etc. did it work before? could be a configuration setting somewhere in your router software.

can you connect to your router with your phone then turn on your phone hotspot and connect the laptop to that?

It’s worked for years with no issue. Cox supplied router. All other devices work inside home. Laptop will connect all other places but here to include Verizon hotspot.

Hang on, your laptop connects to all wifi except when it is located at your house? It won't connect to your cox wifi nor your verizon hotspot?

What if you take the verizon hotspot next door?

Delete the wifi adapter and driver from device manager, then reboot and let it reinstall. Assuming you have admin access.

First thing to try is just updating your wifi drivers. If you're at home, get an ethernet cable and connect to your router (assuming you have an ethernet port on the laptop). If it's a Dell laptop, download SupportAssist then let it scan for new drivers, download, then install them.

I think HP has something similar.

If it's a custom built machine, find out what sort of wifi adapter you have then download the latest drivers from the manufacturer's site.

MS has gotten pretty good with drivers so doing a Windows Update is also a good option (assuming you're running 10 or 11).

This happened to me as well. Come to find out, the laptop I was trying to connect was blocked in the Cox WiFi app. You can check for that as well.

This. I had the exact same issue. If your I.T. person cannot figure this out you need to go above his head.
