Whether it be ways to speed it up or just anything, I appreciate it.

If you just got it, it should already be fast as shite.

Hit the top left "apple" then "system preferences..." Change the default trackpad settings to tap to click, and uncheck the "scroll direction - natural" box. You'll hate it if you don't change those 2 simple settings. Then roll your cursor over each of the gestures in the "more gestures" tab. Gestures, in my opinion, is one of the major features which sets a Macbook apart from a Windows machine.

Things I miss from Windows:
Snapping Windows to the left or right of the screen. Apple's version isn't as good.
Deleting files by selecting them and hitting delete. You either have to either right click or hit command+delete
You can't cut and paste a file to another folder

Appreciate that man, yeah I've been researching all the neat things it can do. I love it for a laptop while building my pc. Oh, what about syncing my iPhone and MacBook? Is that something that can be done easily?

What information are you looking to sync between the two?

They don't. 2 separate lines, 2 separate thoughts.

Now that I think about it, I guess I really don't need much synced between them lol. I do a lot of writing so I assume Pages will be used a lot. Hmm, what else? Overtime, I assume it'll slow down, what are some good ways to make sure it stays fast and I'm not running any unnecessary stuff in the background?

Well, if you're new to macOS, pay attention to the icons on the dock (at the bottom of the screen). Reason being that closing the main window of a program doesn't close the whole program. So if you have an icon on the dock with a blue dot under it, it means the program is still open in the background.
I'm a fan of iStat Menus. All the info it shows is readily available on your computer if you know where to look/how to read the output, but simplifies everything.
Also, pay attention to Activity Monitor (you can find it by searching in Spotlight). It's essentially Apple's version of Task Manager..

I thought that was your response to my tips. So I take it by your frowny you like the natural scroll? I tried getting used to it but it drove me nuts since I switch between OS X and a virtual session of Win7 all day.

Hmm. I love scrolling on my Mac (move fingers down for downscrolling, move fingers up for upscrolling) and I get annoyed when I use my work PC and the scrolling is backwards.

That would drive me crazy.
