Jail breaking firestick

Can someone point me in the right direction to break my firestick?

What are you trying to do? If by "jail break" you mean adding apps not in the app store (such as Kodi) then all you need to do is get the Downloader app from the app store and enable 3rd party apps in settings. Then download whatever apps you want.

There is no such thing as "jailbreaking" on an android device. You can side load apps that aren't in the play store on the firestick and some people call that "jailbreaking". Here is a good article. Troypoint has a lot of good tips for the firestick.

why? what would that accomplish? i dont think there are custom ROMs.
