I've also transitioned to only 4k. I'm not huge on TV shows though so mine hasn't grown crazy.

So i just realized I had this sitting in a laptop bag.
AMD Ryzen 3 5300U 2.6GHz (up to 3.8 GHz max boost clock, 4 MB L3 cache, 4 cores, 8 threads) | AMD Radeon Graphics
8GB DDR4-3200 MHz RAM | 256 GB PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD
14" diagonal, HD (1366 x 768), touch, micro-edge, BrightView, 220 nits, 45% NTSC
Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11a/b/g/n/ac (2x2) Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5 wireless card
Windows 11 Home
In an HP thin laptop.
Have it connected to a few 4tb externals.
Is bumping the ram to 32gb really necessary? It's going to spend it's life in a cabinet. Might rig up a vent for it. But that's it really.

Dump windows for Linux and you'll probably be fine. Is the ram even upgradeable in that thing?

I ran on 8gb for years with ubuntu. I guess if you're doing 10 transcodes that might not work.
