I have to turn it off and on at least once a day, sometimes twice. The phone is so slow and glitchy. What is the consensus on the 13? When will the new Iphone be released?

I'm kinda an apple fanboi but I'm really hoping this Google Pixel 7 coming in October is the shite. That plus a Google Pixel watch will either:
A) Make me switch over
B) Make apple up their game a little
B) is gonna happen regardless so we'll see on A).

First check your battery health %age.
-Go to "Settings" app on phone
-Then go to "Battery"
-Then click the "Battery Health"
I have the iPhone 12 Pro Max and I'm already at 83% but have been sitting around there since I first noticed maybe 9 months ago. I've read that when it gets under 80% that Apple has code to trigger it to go to battery preserve mode or some crap. It then starts self slowing down for the sake of your battery.
Smarter folks than myself may clarify that point some but that's the little I know about it.

iPhones are announced in September, and I believe ship in October. If you can wait, wait. If not update to a 13 Pro.

13 Max Pro is awesome. Great battery life. Fast. Speakers sound great. Highly recommend.

My battery health is at 83%. It's not really a battery issue. My phone just slows way down and freezes. When I turn it off and back on, it'll get better but then it'll happen again.

is the new phone supposed to have major upgrades? I can't remember if it's the even years have major upgrades and the odd years just have internal or hardware upgrades.

Any apps that you don't use? Check that same battery section in phone to see what's heavily taxing your iphone. I'd delete any/all apps that you don't use too.

Probably not, but why buy the old model 2 months before a new one comes out at the same price?

Google always fails hardware wise, they tried a little harder on the last phone but still failed. I'm sure the 7 will be no different. I had a 6 pro and the phone never gave me issues software wise but the hardware difference between Iphone and Samsung Galaxy phones was evident soon as you put the 6 pro next to either one. We will see I guess

Yea I've heard about the fingerprint sensor and such. I'm cautiously optimistic about v2 of their tensor chip built in house. They'll be behind Apple and Samsung in terms of phone and watch just because they haven't been doing it as long, however, I'm curious to see how the pixel 7 and watch turn out.

I'd go back to the last apps installed and remove them to see if it makes a difference. I'm still using a 7Plus and its as fast as ever, but had some glitches with apps that ate up the battery and slowed down the speed.

Isn't Apple supposed to be getting rid of the notch?

Word on street is that Apple is raising some prices on some of the newer phones.
As far as upgrades, the upgrade is going to depend on the model. The biggest changes will be with the Pro line. The new camera and punch hole and pill are only on the pros. Also the new A15 chip will only be on the pros.
Based on this, the regular 14 could be on paper very similar to the regular 13.
I am watching and waiting to add a phone to my plan.

It's not the battery. The same thing started happening to me about two weeks ago. For those that don't have an XR, if you have just rebooted, go to Settings and Wifi, and attempt to forget a network, you'll just chill there for 10+ seconds waiting for the opportunity to click something. Repeat across very, very, basic functions.
Wipe the phone and set it up from factory settings. I'm being forced to switch carriers in 13 days, otherwise I would have wiped mine by now.
