Internet Dilemma. Please help.

Sorry if TLDR
So I have had Suddenlink internet (400mb/unlimited) for several years now and it's served us well with the exception of the bill constantly trending up.. the last time it shot up 40 bucks unexpectedly and they refused to do anything about it so I called and ordered at&t fiber (1 gig) for 60/mo (12 months then goes up to 80).
At&t fiber finally set up now (two days ago) and according to speed tests it's obviously much faster than Suddenlink. I call suddenlink to cancel and they now have deals out the arse and have thrown the kitchen sink at me. 400 mb Internet for 59.99 for life or the 1gig for 80 for life, two free months, and a 50 dollar gift card as an "I'm sorry" ..
The main thing I use the internet for is streaming movies. I still stream thru kodi and another apk Cinema HD and for some reason with the at&t fiber the movie won't play for 10 mins straight without buffering when they play seamlessly with Suddenlink on a much slower connection.. this is a big deal for me. I have 12 more days to cancel the new at&t penalty free. Is there anything I can do to make the APK and kodi movies work better with the new internet or should I cancel and take the "for life" deal with Suddenlink?
Any info would be appreciated. TIA.

Try using a VPN maybe? The big ISPs have been known to throttle things they view as competition.

I’d take that 80 for life.

Thanks guys. Just locked in the 59.99 for life with Suddenlink. Made em put it in writing on an email. I don't know how but the at&t fiber was significantly slower on several devices throughout the house. The 400 mb plan has been plenty fast. As long as the bill doesn't start jumping again I think we're all set. I didn't realize Suddenlink will practically blow you to keep you from cancelling.

I never had fiber, but when I had AT&T internet, my service improved when I started using using my own router instead of their modem/router combo. Streaming worked much better.
Did Suddenlink's deal include unlimited data or are they going to tack on extra? They can be sneaky about that.

I have the same deal, it's 400 down, unlimited, for life. Been back with them six months and bill hasn't changed. Very happy. I tried the att fiber unlimited twice! Hated it both times. I do not trust their speeds. I was getting the one gig on my speed test, but still buffered. I checked on a sudden link server and I was getting around 25 down. I think they are fudging some numbers to make it appear faster than it actually is.

Yeah the at&t fiber was supposed to be unlimited. I wanted to use my own modem but they insisted theirs was best with their service and there was no way around the extra 10bucks a mo equipment fee. I went ahead and cancelled at&t . Suddenlink internet has always been great for us it's just been the billing. Hoping that is fixed now. We shall see.

Be aware that the Price for Life deal goes away if you are late on a payment. Then it will revert to a 12 month price guarantee.

Good to know. I almost always pay it a week or two early but I'll set up auto pay to be on the safe side.
