Indoor tv for outside patio

So I moved into a place last year with a screened in patio. I mounted my old LG TV from 2010 last September and its starting to crap out. (TV turning on and off every couple of minutes). While I’m sure the heat and humidity didn’t help...the tv was also 10 years old.
If I replace it with a new (cheap) indoor tv will I have the same problem in a year? Or can I expect at least 4-5 years out of it before replacing? Would rather go that route than drop 1k on an outdoor tv.

$1k for an outdoor TV is not a bad deal, but then again I’m not sure what size you’re looking at.
If the TV is protected from precipitation and large volumes of dust/moisture, you should be fine for a few years with an indoor TV.

I have a 10 year old Samsung on my porch that has been outside for over a year. fricking thing won’t die so I can get a bigger one.
When it dies I’m gonna find a cheap tcl on sale at Best Buy and get the extended warranty. If I get three years out of a cheap tv then I’ll be happy.

It’s not a huge patio so anything around 40 inches. I see Best Buy has some insignias on sale for $130.

No you won’t have the same problem in a year. I’ve had mine out there for 2 years no problem. FIL has had his out there 5 years no problem. As long as it doesn’t get rained on you’ll be fine.

Don't spend the money on an "outdoor" TV. It's a waste of money. I had a 32 inch Emerson in my master bathroom in Texas for 3 years, then moved to Baton Rouge. Here I mounted it on my wall under my covered patio. It lived there for 3 years till I sold my house last year. Left it there. Probably still working. My new house I mounted a 32 inch that was in my last garage for several years, on my outside patio and it's still going strong. The shity Cox receiver has gone out twice, but TV keeps working. You can get good Hisense Roku 32 for 115 bucks at Walmart. Guarantee that will last years. I have 5 or 6 of those in my guest rooms and garage also and they are tough as shite. I have Samsungs in my bedroom, living room and game room. I wouldn't trust those dam delicate things to last one week outside. Even a 55 is around 250.

Thanks y’all. I figured it had more to do with being an old TV but I didn’t want to have this same problem next year.
