My cable bill has been around $220/month for the past several months, perhaps years.

I got so damn sick and tired of paying for it. My internet is $49.00/month for up to 50MBPS with COX.

I discovered DirectTV NOW and was very impressed with their $50.00/month line up. I don't watch TV all day but I thought that this would be a great way to save a few bucks. $100.00/month for Cable and Internet? Perfect!

I have never had problems streaming shite with Cox on my Roku. It has always streamed everything great.

For the $50.00/month Live Streaming Package from DirectTV NOW... Here's the lineup - Not too shabby for $50.00/month

I tested it out on my Roku and Firestick (in other rooms) and at first it was fricking awesome. I LOVED it and was so excited to finally be able to Cut the Cord. Then, after about 3 hours into it, the buffering began. I called Cocks and they said everything looked strong on my internet signal.

I rebooted Roku and tried again and BOOM, God Damn Buffering again. I have never had issues ever streaming on Roku.

I am so pissed off by now that I left and went up to Publix. I got back about 30 minutes later (by the way, I LOVE living across the street from Publix. It's like from here and there and I can walk there) but anyways, I put all of my groceries up, turned on the oven to pre heat some bad as chicken I was about to make and I tried again..

The fricking DirectTV Now app won't even fricking load. I rebooted Roku again... NOTHING.

I run into my office and check my computers... BOOM. Internet up and running. I ran a speed test on my office computer - 56MBPS

I go back to the living room and made sure that my Roku was 100% updated. It was. I don't have a Roku Stick, I have a Roku little (i don't know what the frick it is called but it is suppose to be the latest and greatest from Roku)

After making sure everything was up to date with Roku, I tried opening DirectTV NOW app... decided to watch a channel and the damn thing is unwatchable.

This is bullshite. Cox is Cock Blocking Me from Cutting the Cord.

I have Cox internet, a Roku 3 and stream all of our TV and have for several years. I have never had any major issues other than SlingTV being unreliable the first month or 2 it was out.

Are you running it wireless? My suggestions (1) try it wired if possible to see if you are in a bad spot for your wireless (2) try it on your computer and see if you have a similar performance. (3) Reboot router and modem (4) check wireless speed near your Roku or with it.
Streaming non 4k content only requires a few Mbps so they'd have to be severely throttling it for you to notice.

People are going to think I'm a rep for DirecTV, because I keep posting it in these threads, but you can get that same lineup right now with DirecTV and uverse internet for around $90 a month. You also get a $300 Visa gift card and the price is locked for the entirety of the 2 year agreement.

I was a cord cutter for 4 years, and had ps Vue since it's release, but once they went up on price, and DirecTV dropped, it made sense to go back to satellite.

Screw directv, I don't know about the streaming but we habe the sat. Service and if a mosquito pisses on it we lose service.

Have had them out multiple times to reposition and change components.

Then our bill is diff every damn month. When the woman told us "it's complicated but I'll try to explain it to you" yea thats when we said frick this.

My roku can run it pretty shitty. But my Apple TV runs it great (hard wired connection) and I have now for $10 a month (lowest package and get $25 credit from ATT.

Is your modem a 4x4, 8x4, or 16x4?

I cut the cord and buffered a lot. I had an old Zoom 5350 4x4 modem. I then switched to one of the new Arris Surfboards with 8x4 and have not buffered a single time for a month now.

I was worried about both of those, but so far, 4 months in, and we haven't had any signal loss, and our bill has been exactly the same every month. I had an issue with the original install, the guy said he couldn't do DirecTV because of my roof height, so he tried to install uverse. They wouldn't give me the same price with the uverse, but sent a different installer out a week later and he got the DirecTV up and running.

When it comes to live streaming Apple TV is the best out of roku and fire stick. I never had a problem with it.

When I was a cord cutter, I had a couple of rokus and a fire tv. We had ps Vue, and it was pretty reliable, except when it wasn't if that makes sense. It would work great the majority of the time, but always seemed to have trouble on Saturdays watching football.

And the watch ESPN app was always pretty terrible. We have an attic antenna, it worked well, but our local NBC affiliate stayed on vhf when everything else switched to uhf, and it has alot of trouble picking up NBC

I have AT&T fiber and could not use Directv Now. The service would buffer so bad it was terrible. I switched to PS VUE and have not looked back.

The DirecTV now app is terrible. I rarely use it. Just use your log in for each networks’ app.

The Roku app for DirecTV Now is garbage. I use it on a Fire Stick and Chromecast and they both work pretty good

If you are going to use Direct TV now, your better option is to switch your internet to Uverse. They give you unlimited internet for DirectTV Now as they are owned by ATT and give buffering speed too
